re: Fertilizer Prices & Food Plots - Bowstring1 on 10/4/22 at 1:32 pm I am a farmer and have planted in conventional teal, minimal teal, and no teal situations. No teal is a great seating practice but has no ramifications on fertilizer requirements for crops. The only way to adjust pH is with the use of lime, and there Is currently no way to soil test for nitrogen req... Posted on Outdoor Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1) |
re: Buck with a longbow - Bowstring1 on 10/4/22 at 1:02 pm Congratulations! A heck of an accomplishment! I picked up a traditional bow 22 years ago and have never looked back either! I have killed deer elk hogs and a number of other game animals.I know full well the time it takes to complications such a feat!... Posted on Outdoor Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1) |
re: Best fix for bent PTO shaft - Bowstring1 on 9/19/22 at 1:18 pm You can replace just the male and our female part of the shaft if that is all that is bent. Usually a roll pin is all that holds part of the shaft onto the yolk. I have to change them several times a year. Less than $100 to repair... re: What kind of deer is this? - Bowstring1 on 1/15/22 at 4:51 pm My son killed a deer very similar to this but much more white several years ago. There is no high fence even remotely close to our area. We never did figure it out, but a very cool looking buck... Posted on Outdoor Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1) |
re: New Louisiana Record Buck by Crossbow?
- Bowstring1 on 1/14/22 at 6:25 am This is exactly right! I very well remember P&Y not allowing deer to be entered with a 80% let off compound bows! In my opinion there is nothing wrong with hunting with them but I have a hard even considering it archery and I shot them for years. Also again in my opinion this should always be about ... re: New Louisiana Record Buck by Crossbow?
- Bowstring1 on 1/13/22 at 6:50 am Bottom line is the guy killed a heck of a deer legally! I am sure most on here use 85% let off bows, releases, sights, rangefinder, elevated stands, trail cameras, expandable broad heads, throw away knife blades etc……instead of jealousy there should be congratulations!... re: Regulation Spin Off - Bowstring1 on 12/14/21 at 7:48 pm I hunt from sw la to ne la, also s Texas and the mid west. the one thing I have noticed everywhere In Louisiana that I hunt is there is never a shortage of deer. That being said in order to determine how to regulate, it must first be determined what the goal is... Posted on Outdoor Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
re: Do you think players should be allowed to leave early - Bowstring1 on 1/2/17 at 8:37 am I'm not too sure where character was brought into this. I do not question either persons character. That is not what this is about. For me it is about the contributions and the overall success of the team, and how each type of recruit fits into that puzzle. While great players are fun to watch(and m... Posted on Tiger Rant Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1) |
re: Do you think players should be allowed to leave early - Bowstring1 on 1/2/17 at 8:17 am As I stated, I believe he is a good person. I'm sure he exceeded coaches expectations. As far as a great representative of LSU..... I'm not so sure. High expectations and pressure go with the territory, but that was not the question I asked! What type of person/player would you rather recruit?... Posted on Tiger Rant Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2) |
re: Do you think players should be allowed to leave early - Bowstring1 on 1/2/17 at 7:42 am Also the same comparison could be made between Ricky Blanton and Ben Simmons... Posted on Tiger Rant Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
re: Do you think players should be allowed to leave early - Bowstring1 on 1/2/17 at 7:39 am Nothing can be done about players leaving early, but most of those that do are basically using the school and depriving someone else of a opportunity for an education. I will ask you what type of person would you rather recruit, a Leonard F. or a Jacob Hester? Nothing at all against LF. I think he i... Posted on Tiger Rant Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2) |
re: Harris is a better QB than Etling - Bowstring1 on 11/20/16 at 6:58 pm Harris was given 5 pass plays on the Monday before the Wisconsin game. All he had to do was be able to make the reads. By Friday he could only do one. Athletic ability......yes,brains......no! When Steve spurrier was at Florida he said "the smartest player on my team will be my quarterback, regardl...
