Like it or not, "The Pope" is a political position.
It's always surprising to me when people disagree with this. Back in the day, it was second or third born sons from the most powerful families in Europe being named Pope. It's not so blatant as that today, but you don't get to the top of any big institution without being a politician and ruthless.

I’m catholic and want all the federal money pulled from these charities. These charities are leftist and Jewish captured. I’d assume shut them down.

Also as said I have a major problem spending federal dollars on any charity.
Taxes should be greatly cut and could be if the federal government and politicians weren’t committing fraud and benefitting from it.

Pope has yet to criticize Iran for murdering 10s of thousands of it’s own citizens. All I need to know about this Pope.

Well yea it’s what they do. No one other than the corrupt leaders of these charities should be sad.

Why are taxpayer funds going to religious charities in the first place?

Key Aspects of Federal Funding for Religious Groups
Major Recipients: World Vision ($661M in grants), Mercy Corps ($400M), and Catholic Charities USA (hundreds of millions) are top recipients, often using funds for humanitarian aid.
Types of Funding:
Social Services: Grants from HHS, DOL (e.g., YouthBuild), and other agencies for services like job training and poverty relief.
Security Grants: DHS awarded over $210 million in 2025 to houses of worship and faith-based community centers to improve security against attacks.
COVID-19 Relief: Religious groups received between 6 billion and 10 billion in COVID-19 relief funds, with the Catholic Church alone receiving over 1.4 billion.
Restrictions and Rules:
No Direct Religious Use: Federal funding cannot support "inherently religious" activities, such as worship, proselytization, or religious instruction.
Separation of Funds: Religious organizations must separate, in time or location, their religious activities from government-funded services.
501(c)(3) Status: While not always required, religious organizations often need to be, or act through, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to receive funding.
Faith-Based Initiatives: Since the early 2000s, federal, state, and local governments have, via faith-based initiatives, actively supported, or sought, the participation of religious groups in delivering social services.

Why was the US Government funding religious charities to begin with?
Also, this happened before their tiff. Because of course this is being spun dishonestly. But it brings into focus the play the Democrats are getting at with the Pope. And the reason why this Pope was installed to begin with. They're trying to divide Trump's base by pitting him at odds with the religious right. And, being smart enough to see it, he is leaning into it.

Not all Jews are Marxists, just most of the ones that live in NYC, Chicago, Miami, and LA. Which are full of non Jewish marxists.

Maybe the commie pope can open up the vault at the Vatican and fund these programs with money from just Catholics since it’s their charity and all.

Better.
Given the human trafficking with intent to violate American immigration law, there should be criminal proceedings to go along with the funding cuts.

Because that was the Reagan, Bush 1 and Bush 2 shift from Social programs... "Let us give the money to the Churches and they'll be more efficient in helping people.”
The intent was to have citizen's donating if they so choose. Not that USAID would grossly inflate their grants. That came from the Color Revolutions strategy used overseas and brought to the United States.

For the record, not many faithful Catholics support Catholic Charities

You do realize that the Pope went to Algeria to pay homage to St.Augustine who was Bishop of Hippo which is in Algeria.
Heis going to Cameroon because it has one of the fastest growing Catholic communities in Africa.

How about lowering income taxes and let the people of the church handle charity. Bring back charitable deductions at 100% too.

Exactly. It's an NGO and they use $ to assist illegals into the country.
