Trump is the peace president.
Sounds like the pope doesn’t like that Trump has resolved issues in the Middle East. Does the pope want more violence and killing?

We shouldn't be funding any of these charities in the first place. WTF
A charity, by definition, is something people do voluntarily, not with tax dollars.

Do you not realize you’re in a cult?
You realize it’s ok to not be a leftist shill about everything right? It’s ok to think for yourself.

I'm good with this. Catholic Charities received my tax dollars and used it to fund mass illegal immigration under Biden. This should have been done on day one of Trump's term.

The pope has zero to do with politics. In addition, he's fricking not very good at what he should be doing in religious matters, but thats on Catholics to decide for themselves.
The pope should stay in his lane.

The entire back and forth between the Pope and Trump is difficult for me.
As a catholic, I look to the pope for the church’s position. I don’t always agree with the church’s position but respect the pope and intent. Our current Pope is making that more difficult for myself. Reading some of his statements, it doesn’t seem like he is guiding the church but rather expressing his own opinion.
I support most of Trumps initiatives. He isn’t afraid to address the issues that the career politicians kept kicking down the road. I’m all for providing charity/assistance to those genuinely in need. But as the saying goes, charity starts at home. Shouldn’t our government prioritize helping our own citizens in need before extending aid to immigrants. Shouldn’t our government prioritize job creation for our citizens before immigrants. Shouldn’t our government ensure our citizens security before that of immigrants.
Trumps speaking style abrasive and I believe that’s why so many folks are immediately opposed. Trump is focusing on the things we should expect. National security, tax dollars benefitting our citizens not the rest of the world.

a left wing NGO? this is not the burn you think it is.
quote:
The Catholic Church
Catholic Charities does wtf they want. they were hijacked years back by leftwingers. them being guided by archdiocese is a crock of shite. that excuse was used to stay tax exempt in the SCOTUS case.
quote:
But no: rather than trying to promote traditional values and God-fearing behavior, Catholic Charities—and the same could be said about the Association of Jewish Family and Children's Agencies or the Lutheran Services in America—has become over the last three decades an arm of the welfare state, with 65 percent of its $2.3 billion annual budget now flowing from government sources and little that is explicitly religious, or even values-laden, about most of the services its 1,400 member agencies and 46,000 paid employees provide.
they get tons of federal grant money.
quote:
Catholic Charities first announced its politicization in a wild-eyed manifesto that invokes such radical sixties icons as Malcolm X, Gloria Steinem, Herbert Marcuse, and—above all—the Marxist-inspired Liberation Theology movement that (to put it crudely) equates Jesus with Che Guevara. Ratified at Catholic Charities' annual meeting in 1972, the so-called Cadre Study totally abandoned any stress on personal responsibility in relation to poverty and other social ills. Instead, it painted America as an unjust, "numb" country, whose oppressive society and closed economy cause people to turn to crime or drugs or prostitution. Moreover, the study asserts, individual acts of charity are useless. We must instead unearth "the root causes of poverty and oppression" and radically reconstruct—"humanize and transform"—the social order to avert social upheaval.
quote:
This radical shift in thinking had two practical consequences. First, Catholic Charities moved away from "just" charity toward a stress on government solutions to every social problem, making political advocacy a key mission.

Pope shouldn’t start a battle if he can’t take it. DJT isn’t a bent over alter boy.

If they close their hospitals then others can take them over and they can BEGIN PAYING PROPERTY TAXES! That is a good thing. The catholic church hoards property because they do not pay property taxes.

Makes sense, especially if they are spending it on illegals.
