So the title of this says Trump pulls money after Pope gets pissy.
But the truth is Trump pulls money and then the pope gets pissy

You do realize that the Pope went to Algeria to pay homage to St.Augustine who was Bishop of Hippo which is in Algeria.
Heis going to Cameroon because it has one of the fastest growing Catholic communities in Africa.
And I’m sure that those are excellent photo ops.

I wish Planned Parenthood would say something negative or disagreeable about Trump.

The bigger question is why was this funding still happening a year after Doge and DataRepublican revealed the network of taxpayer funding?

Hopefully Lutheran Services is next.

Is he going to Nigeria where there have been thousands of Christians murdered at the hands of islamist purely because they are Christians??

Because they are picking and choosing. Trump is the only one that could get Christians to hate the Catholic church and the Pope. Fascinating.

The Pontiff wants that USAID money back in the collection plate.

The Food Bank of Central Louisiana uses my church in Grant parish once a
month to distribute food to the poor.I have been going to help for a good many years now.
For many years a portion of the food was in boxes labeled as donated by Catholic Charities.
Couple years ago no more food from Catholic Charities,I can only assume they were spending their money helping illegal aliens invade the U S.
Pisses me off.

The funding was pulled last month. You are currently watching the pope retaliate.

Who knows if the two things are even related, but the pope and US cardinals didn't help their cause by continuously spitting in the face of this admin in very public forums.

Let us give the money to the Churches and they'll be more efficient in helping people
And they were correct. The churches were very efficient at helping people illegally immigrate into the USA and become parasites.

Why are we giving public funds to any religious organization
Per Grok:
It's a surprisingly large and diverse landscape. Here's the breakdown:
The big picture: 321 Christian ministries in one tracked database alone received a combined $2.35 billion in government grants based on 2023 IRS filings.
Top recipients (relief/development orgs dominate):
World Vision is the largest, pulling in $661 million — about 44% of its $1.5 billion annual revenue.
Mercy Corps came in second at $400 million (77% of its revenue), followed by World Relief at $126 million and Church World Service at $114 million.
Samaritan's Purse (Franklin Graham's org) took about $53 million, though that's only 4% of its revenue.
Universities: Liberty University, Baylor, and Pepperdine all receive federal grants, though it amounts to roughly 1% of their revenue each.
Security grants: DHS distributes hundreds of millions through the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to faith-based institutions across Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, and Jewish organizations — for security cameras, lighting, access control, etc.
The legal framework: Federal law allows it as long as the money funds social services, not religious activity itself — so a church running a food bank or homeless shelter can get federal dollars, but can't use them for worship or proselytizing.
The pattern is pretty clear: the biggest recipients aren't churches, they're international relief orgs and universities that happen to have Christian roots but operate primarily as service providers.
Did that answer your question?

The pope is more interested in Islam and global politics than he is with Christian lives, and as the proclaimed physical representative of Jesus Christ on earth, that should very obviously be more than just a bit troubling for anyone who does actually believe the gospel.
Being interfaith, altering scripture, championing Islam, and not concerning yourself with the massive amounts of Christian lives lost at the hands of Islam I suppose is not concerning to someone who is more politically focused than Christian focused.
All true, well put...

Why would anyone who is not Catholic ever give a shite about the Catholic church?
That has nothing to do with getting along with individual Catholics, most of whom are of the cafeteria variety and believe something less than half of what the Catholic church espouses anyway.
The POPE is driving the hate. Why would we feel generous toward that self-righteous leftist prick more than any of the other ones?

You realize that it was rhetorical. I already knew.
But yeah, big thanks to government for ensuring that I give to charities I may not wish to give to.

Funding Catholic Churches is like funding Homosexuality.
