I’d say experience matters for this position.

Good. I've said it since the deportations began, that it's not good enough.

If you assume a number of, say, 15 million illegal immigrants crossed into the US during Biden's four years, then on average you're going to have to deport 10,400 illegal aliens daily for the remainder of Trump's term just to get back to where it was when he left office.

I'm looking to get a minimum of 10,000 per day with certain days going over 15-20k for good measure. Those numbers will actually make a difference.

Keep in mind these deportation numbers do not account for those leaving on their own. Likely saw a spike and now it will level off, and will likely increase as the numbers of deportation each day rise.

When it is all said and done I think the number of self deportations will be higher than directly from ICE.

They got a taste of American and if they don't self deport they will be barred from ever legally immigrating.

Getting rid of carried interest and imposing new taxes on professional team owners. Trump really sucks at tax cuts for billionaires.

So did they just let this guy hang on and he's not really "all in" with the administration and now is just a good time to provide proof he sucks and fire him?

He was the asst director, and Trump moved him up

Hes still with ICE, just not in charge of immigration or customs enforcement any longer

I am thinking we should announce a lottery. 10 people that self deport every month will win 100k.

Not an entirely stupid idea. Wouldn't need to be 100K. Even 5K would be an incentive and probably cheaper than hunting someone down and doing the physical deporting.

But the real solution, as it has always been, is to punish employers of undocumented persons. Congress has never had the courage to pass real penalties and enforcement into law.

As far as dismissing the ICE director, I think a month is not really enough time to get geared up. I suspect the next person in charge is going to get credit for results from the ground work that the dismissed guy did.

I hope they start with the criminals and leave the working people alone. For me, if they’re already here and productive, so what if they stay in the country, They should be low priority, but secure the border to stop the future influx.

Wonder if we’re going to discover it is harder to round them up than we can afford to do financially or politically

Trump and his administration is the biggest clown show I've ever seen. And all this ineptitude and mismanagement will do is cause a recession, but hay, don't worry, the goal to rob from the poor and middle class so that the rich can get more tax breaks will get accomplished

Those people you are talking about are robbing you to pay illegals.
