That's the only way a system of elected officials works, you give them a chance to prove otherwise. The sunk cost fallacy of keeping the same proven failures in office term after term has put us in the predicament we find ourselves in today; an entrenched elected elite and that assimilates all new officials to join them in their enrichment schemes on our dime.
Vote all incumbents out until parties start realizing that carrying career politicians that act in their own self interests has a cost of losing their majority or collective interests.
