When gas gets to $2-$2.50/gallon, not a single person on this message board will give a flying frick about this war no matter how long we stay over there. Stop acting outraged over a war that nobody really gives a shite about besides gas prices

There have been more people shot and killed in Chicago over a weekend than there has been this entire Iran conflict

when gas prices will go down (he said he would get them below $2).

Well if we do get the national average price of gasoline back down below $2/gallon, hopefully we don't have the same economic issues as the previous three times that's happened.

I do think there's a good bit of truth there.

I’m pretty damn tired of paying $100 to fill up my truck while Trump and Co keep piddle farting around over there. This has gone on long enough and Americans are being bent over the barrel by high gas prices and funding endless wars.

His point is that Iran is holding out to hurt the Republicans in the mid-terms, and once they are over, Iran will cool down.

That's not exactly it. I've already explained this earlier:
Iran wants to hold on to see if the Dems can take Congress and impeach Trump or at least stop his military funding. That means the U.S. withdraws and they win.
OTOH, if the Dems lose the midterms then Iran will have to comply in negotiations and the U.S. wins because their economy can't take this for another 2 years.

I haven't expressed outrage about the war. I just don't like all the unnecessary bluffing and lying.

It's too early to assess whether the benefits will be worth the 18 dead Americans and BILLIONS of dollars.

We're not dealing with a secular government that values life and well-being as much as we do. The IRGC would literally rather die than surrender.

In all seriousness, how can the most die hard MAGAphytes defend this dude still?

He may very well single handedly lose Congress because of his garbage policies and outlandish bluster.

So he's finally acknowledged that the war is deeply unpopular and could cost him the midterms. Thats the only reason to say something like that

Oh wow! Thanks Trump! Good job, I know it will be over right after the election because you said so! He’s the very best at renaming things though, for real!
