Nut up, he does not have the support to steamroll everything and everyone, fixing this shite will be a multi-year incremental process of pragmatic solutions. Let the FBI do their background checks, who cares. Believe me you do not want to be the FBI agent caught right now making stuff up.

Has agreed to let DOJ do background checks on nominees.
2. However, to get security clearances this MUST be done.
The way this is supposed to work is after Senate is done and has consented on the nomination THEN the DOJ/FBI goes to work. The two are kept separate.... normally.
There is a lack of detail here that might make this bad, or not a problem at all:
A) Maybe Trump requested the two process at the same time to speed things up.
B) IF Trump did (a) they still might be kept seperate where the DOJ results are not available to the Senate. (I wouldn't trust that- the SCOTUS has leaks the DOJ never bothered to address)
C) This indeed may be a trap; need more detail to know.

I don't see an issue with federal background checks. I've had them done on me. It's thorough but you'd have to have major issues to flag.
