Plenty of articles on this since 2012, not to mention the FAA's own website pre-Trump might be a clue.
But yeah, let's pretend the FAA was openly seeking out DEI candidates, actively refusing 3000+ qualified white candidates, yet NONE of this was ever practiced...

This is so fricking stupid.Go to the actual FAA website and look at the job openings. Yes ATC jobs are open to those with disabilities but its depends on the disability. They may higher someone in a wheelchair for example The FAA is not hiring folks with down syndrome or epileptics as ATCs. The FAA has strict medical standards for air traffic controllers, and epilepsy is considered a disqualifying condition.
There are problems with DEI hiring practices.... lots of them, but just making up ridiculous bullshite like the FAA is hiring ATCs with severe intellectual disabilities isnt helping the matter . . If something like an ADHD diagnosis can disqualify an ATC applicant, a severe mental/ intellectual disability would obviously disqualify someone as well.

It doesn't matter if the ATC or anyone directly involved was DEI. it is a culture/resource issue.
The focus on DEI by Democrats, their administrations and their appointees is the problem. You can only have 1 first priority and with the Dems and their ilk it is/was DEI.
Attention and resources that could have gone to training, safety reviews, equipment etc. was focused on DEI. That is a problem.
