He is being presidential, just not in the way that you like.
He's being presidential by speaking truth. He's not going to accept the blame for idiotic policies enacted by the former regime, and he shouldn't. It's not his issue to own, but he will fix it. Just like the water situation in California. Just like the border/immigration crisis. Just like the pointless wars.

I would argue you should wait until the investigation is complete and if that could have factored into the root cause, call it out. Otherwise, you could end up looking like an arse.

Yes. At a minimum it was a strong influence.
Even if no DEI hire was directly involved in this incident the DEI policies are to blame. Instead of focusing on performance, safety and reviewing policy and procedures to improve safety they were focused on DEI at any cost. The cost was the poor souls on those aircraft.
