I wonder how many of those mfers in Congress or the Deep State knew this was coming and quietly sold off their investments on Monday and Tuesday, leaving the small investors holding the bag.

Trump blames Democrats for stock market plunge after sweeping midterm victories The Dow Jones fell 1,833 points while the Nasdaq dropped 5.52% as investors weighed AI regulation concerns

By Michael Sinkewicz FOXBusiness

President Donald Trump blamed Democrats' sweeping midterm election victories for Thursday's massive stock market sell-off, as Wall Street suffered its sharpest losses since April 2025.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump warned that the market plunge had taken a toll on Americans' retirement savings.

"The Stock Market suffered one of the Worst Days in History based on the results of the Election," Trump wrote.

"Such a sad thing to watch! It took so much work to get us to a level that no one has ever seen before, and then this," he continued. "Your 401(k)s have, therefore, dropped."

Trump lashed out at Democrats, placing blame for Thursday's losses squarely on the party's election gains, which included winning control of both the House and Senate.

"Remember, it wasn’t Republicans, it was Dumocrats," he wrote. "Do not fear, however, we will soon, one way or the other, be BIGGER AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE."

U.S. stocks plunged Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 1,833 points, or 3.44%, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 5.52%, its worst session since April 2025.

The S&P 500 also declined 4.36%, while the Nasdaq entered correction territory, closing more than 10% below its October record high.

The sell-off was driven in part by steep losses in technology and artificial intelligence stocks as investors weighed the potential impact of Democratic election victories on AI regulation and data center development.

Nvidia fell more than 9%, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index plunged more than 12%, FOX Business previously reported.

"The obvious catalyst for the sharp selloff is that markets are pricing in the midterm results," eToro market analyst Jakub Rochlitz said.

The market downturn came just one day after stocks rallied following the midterm elections, wiping out the previous session's gains.

Beyond the election results, investors have also raised concerns about the enormous borrowing and spending fueling the AI boom, particularly as technology companies expand data centers amid rising energy costs and uncertainty over future returns.

FOX Business' Sophia Compton and Eric Revell contributed to this report.

It’s not just Trump blaming Dems, even leftist rags like The Economist are placing responsibility squarely on the shoulders of the blue wave.

Here is the headline:

I think Trump is right just as I think Trump would be proven correct about Iran.

But I’m an older guy and can understand where Trump tries to emphasize these “longer term, big picture” view of things.

The disconnect is he’s trying to emphasize this same message to younger generations of voters who aren’t worried about the “bigger” picture viewpoint and are living in and focusing on the here and now.

Even though I don’t think DJT is wrong, the Republican Party going forward better figure out a way to emphasize a message that shows younger generations of American voters how conservative values and policies can have positive impacts today.

When I was a young 20 or 30-something year old, I wasn’t overly concerned with how my 401k would look 40 years down the road or how international relations would be playing out when I was older.

Which is crazy because

1) he’s still POTUS
2) he’ll take 100% of the credit when it inevitably fully rebounds (which of course Dems get no credit for)

The man has never accepted any responsibility for anything that’s gone wrong ever. Why would he start now???

Financial repression is happening and it's deliberate, and it'll continue to happen no matter who's in charge. It'll hit everybody to a degree but it hits people without assets worse.

The entire market is being propped up by AI and Big Tech stocks. The Dumbocrats announced that their first order of business is to shut it all down and prosecute CEO’s. How in the hell do you think the market will react? Trump is 100% correct. You idiots have no clue.

He betrayed voters so bad that they actually voted for democrats!

The stock market is overwhelmingly tied to the Data Center/AI trade.
Democrats were elected to be anti Data Center by people that hate Data Centers.

So duh, when the Blue Wave happened the AI trade sold off.

So Trump made Democratic leadership publicly declare war on companies that cooperated with his admin? Interesting.

Look into the numbers

Trump won by attracting younger voters and marginal independents and some disenfranchised democrats in addition to the fact that Biden/kamala are horrible candidates.

For 2 years, Trump has not lived up to the promises he made to these people. Interest rates are still high. Prices haven’t come down. He started a war. He didn’t end the russia/ukraine war…. And the stuff he claims to have done haven’t done enough to keep those voters.

So now with mid terms, those voters that he attracted, went the other way.

When the DSA Hollywood produced Show Trials starts for "corrupt" tech CEOs, CEOs who didn't fall inline with DSA standards, who will be the first CEO under oath? Obviously it will be Elon Musk. The DSA hates Musk nearly as much as they hate Trump, and to think Musk was once the tech darling of the DSA, much admired for his contributions to rid society of the internal combustion engine.
