The woman who has already sued for defamation has now entered a new suit against Trump for sexual battery using a new law that New York has just passed to allow victims a year to do so for alleged crimes as far back as they want. I'm sure this law was proposed just to get Trump.

They can do whatever they want. I’m still voting Trump. frick all of them. The more they try to “get him” the more it makes me want to vote for him to prove the point to them. I can’t be controlled.

Don’t give one single frick about what they say. Trump has my vote no matter what happens.

Just a total waste of resources. He should be able to force her to pay his legal fees.

The crazy part is the defamation tag on. He said "This lady is not my type" and actually lost that case and had to appeal to get it overturned using his potus position. They are now reapplying that and he will probably lose. It's ludicrous how he is attacked no stop.

It is an effective way to keep good candidates out of politics.

The process is the punishment.

It’s also a threat to anyone without his resources not to mess with the system or they will ruin you personally, financially and criminally.

Nearly 11,000. That’s how many lawsuits were brought under a similar New York law that gave a two-year window for child victims of sexual assault to bring lawsuits from 2019 to 2021, which the Adult Survivors Act was modeled after, according to nonprofit CHILD USA. The AP reports that while the adult law is expected to bring in at least hundreds of legal claims, it’s unclear if the number of lawsuits filed will be as high as the child law.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) signed the Adult Survivors Act into law in May, after the legislation had previously stalled in the state legislature under previous Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) as he faced his own allegations of sexual misconduct. Though other states have enacted similar laws for child abuse victims, New York is only the second state after New Jersey to expand the litigation window to those whose abuse took place as adults.

New York law already allows a judge to award costs and fees against a frivolous litigant. 130-1.1

Looks like Joe and Hunters victims should be able to fill the court docket.

I don't know shite about what constitutes defamation but if, "I don't know that lady, totally fabricated and made up story" is considered defamation then every that will open the door to a ton of frivolous suits.

What you posted does not disprove the OP. Nor is this sort of legislation a net positive.

The allegation alone is destructive, regardless of the ultimate outcome.

They pay these women to sue Trump and have the lawsuits be sexual in nature. They did the same thing to Kavanaugh and multiple republicans less recently. It’s part of the Stalinist playbook.

Not why I posted it. I suspected that few would be familiar with the law in question, and (unlike the OP) I provided some background.

As to suspending the statute of limitations, I tend to agree.

This is independent of the limitations issue.

Dispensing with the SOL results in the allegation.

I really don't see why any major business would want to stay in NYC. The retroactive rule changes is just mind boggling to me.

Aren't basically all lawsuits retroactive? Can you proactively sue someone?

In this case it was way past the statute of limitations. A new law just opened the window for the "retroactive" suit
