This because of China importing half what they normally do based on a shift to nuclear energy. It has nothing to do with Trump.

Why do you say stupid things like this? Its at tops 5%.

The Campaign Promise: Trump repeatedly stated that his economic and drilling policies would reduce overall energy costs by 50%

If Trump had not reversed everyone of Biden's energy policies, would oil be more expensive or less expensive for the US right now?

Answer: Higher.

We don't get any oil from Iran. The Strait of Hormuz is a energy wealth shift, exactly like that of Venezuela.

If a leftist was really worried about gas prices they would have opposed Biden shutting down Keystone because Warren Buffett paid Biden handsomely to have it done to protect Buffett's railroad shipping of oil.

Also, everytime that the US has tried to increase refinery operations, the left would oppose that too.
That's two instances that could have had us better prepared for what is happening in 2026.

So please, stop bitching about gas prices simply because you just hate Trump.

I am genuinely curious. Can you list all the energy policies that Biden had in place that Trump reversed. Because this is what i found:

quote:

U.S. crude oil production rose significantly from the start of Joe Biden's presidential term to the end. According to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), annual domestic crude production averaged 11.185 million barrels per day (b/d) in his first year (2021) and climbed to an average of roughly 13.2 million to 13.4 million b/d by his final full year in 2024, breaking historical global records.

You can not refute ANYTHING that the OP sttated. It's why you turned to the personal attacks.

Even if he WAS doing what he said he would do to Iran, which he isn't, he is doing the exact opposite of what he said originally, which is no new wars.

There it is. IGNORANCE on display.

1- Trump ran on no more NEVER ENDING wars. As in decades long. It's been a few months.

2- He is doing what he stated. And he stated it more than once. Here it is for you:

TIME interview published April 2024, Trump was directly asked:

“If Israel and Iran get into a war, should the U.S. support Israel in striking Iran militarily?”

Trump answered “Yes”, adding that if Iran attacked Israel, “we would be there.”

Trump statements about Iran:

“We'll knock the hell out of them.”
“We're going to have to knock them down.”
“Sure. Without question, absolutely.”

This tells me all I need to know. You don;t know what Trump ran on because you were not listening.

Wrong. Because we control the strait.

Thanks JJ. Some people actually believe this, they can just stop importing oil, tell people and factories to use less and voila its done. And they havent had to touch their reserves. People are actually posting this nonsense.

Well if they could do that, why havent they done it years ago and saved themselves trillions of dollars???

There have been more Federal lease sales.

Now...whether that alone makes oil cheaper than it otherwise would be today, I have no clue.

I do know the top of the Department of Interior has been pressing on its field offices to approve projects on Federal Lands quicker. Processing times from submittal to approval have come down, from stuff I've seen personally.

China is already paying the fines, why WOULDN'T they take their usual demand if they needed it? It would bone the US economy. Dropping 10%, sure, but HALF due to this at the strait? The math doesn't even add up

First it is due to the blockade.

Second, chini is Iran's only customer, if they could get a tanker out do you honestly think chini is paying them a toll, they are buying that oil at a HUGE discount and Iran is begging them to take it.

It’s simple. Biden reversed all of Trump’s 2016 ones. Trump put those back and reversed all of the ones Biden added.

Biden mainly focused on enriching nations not the US and made us more reliant to have to import more energy.
Ever heard of the Green New Deal? You have. Trump ended that shite. It was costing us more energy wise.

There’s quotes about wars in the Middle East. This is an Israeli issue and there’s a segment of the MAGA and conservative movement that doesn’t want the US getting involved in Israel’s battles.

Also, Trump said in June 2025 that we had obliterated Irans nuclear capability after dropping bombs. Was he lying then or just misinformed?

Which ones? What were they? What did they do? Can you list them?

If that happened as you said, why did US oil production increase 20% during Biden's administration?

Key Rescissions in EO 14148

Everything that made energy more costly for Americans and American companies was reversed.

But it does. He told you very clearly that the oil in july 2026 was lower that of July 2024. Aug is not over and we do not know what that average will be.

Second, he clearly pointed out the difference. Prior, the Oil was higher and the straight was open. Now it is lower and the strait is closed.

Are any of the 2023 and 2024 prices "inflation adjusted"?

Asking for a friend.
