IMO, writing and creativity, etc generally comes from emotions. Journalism is a form of writing.
Leftists are driven by emotions, not common sense.
Thus, many leftists are/ were attracted to journalism. Hence a large majority will want to write about their side.
Ultimately, what few conservative writers there were became ostracized and run out.

There are probably a couple of reasons. Among them is the extreme left slant of American schools of journalism. It is likely that that slant was first influenced by the USSR, and now China. But the result is few journalists, who are anything close to moderate (much less conservative), can navigate those schools and graduate in good standing.
Journalists are not necessarily the deepest of pragmatic thinkers. So when they see a problem, a solution based in American Exceptionalism doesn't really occur. Instead, their natural call is for the Government to step in and magically make it better.

Project mockingbird/CIA laid the groundwork for what we see today. CIA is apparently full of commies so they set up MSM to be their propaganda spigot. Then a steady stream of like minded retards from the schools that teach communist ideology. Then the deep state funds/subsidizes them through back door channels.

Journalists typically lean left. And now they've had secret funding go to zero, notice that they are nicer now to most Republicans than they've been in a while but they are white hot in their anger towards Trump.

Big pharma purchases an amazing amount of ad space to "advertise" drugs.

Progressive loons and most journalists are cut from the same cloth. The vast majority of the journalists which I have met or know are sniveling little wretched miserable people. They wield the power of the pen. They feel it overcomes all of their insecurities and shortcomings.
Don't get me wrong, probably 20-25% of journalists are decent people which try to remain unbiased and truly put forth great effort to tell a meaningful story. However, by and large the are little wretched miserable people.

Who makes a career out of the media? Leftists. If a smart kid leans conservative he’s not going into journalism. He’s dreaming of being an investment banker, an engineer or some other productive career.
