Gullible people gonna be gullible... that money is never getting anywhere near it’s intended target. The site will tak thei 10% and laugh all the way to the bank. The other money, if not embezzled by the creator, will be given to the govt and put in a general fund to support social programs.

Christmas has me broke right now but I just donated 20 bucks.

Just wondering... How much money will it have to grow too before NBC, ABC and CBS are forced to report on it? I'm assuming right now it's still a very quiet and viral thing.

There is no guarantee of anything, once a campaign is over it goes to the person that set it up. GoFundMe campaigns has been frot with corruption over the years

They're saying that this is the fastest growing trashcan to throw your money into of all time.

nothing gets money out of folks' wallets like a good ole tent revival!

• Republican Representative Steven Palazzo of Mississippi is introducing legislation to direct the Treasury Department to issue government savings bonds which would allow us to fund the wall this method. This is just one option, there are others on the table being discussed.
• 100% of your donations will go to the Trump Wall.
• We are working with a law firm on a legal document that will bind the government to using the funds for the border wall itself, nothing else.
• We will hold all funds and not release a single penny until we have all legal aspects covered to ensure our money goes only to the wall.
• If we don’t reach our goal or come significantly close we will refund every single penny. We are working on a time frame to achieve.

to be completely fair, if Republicans (and politicians in general) in office aren't taking notice of this, they're part of the problem. People are speaking with their wallets whether I agree with them or not.

It's grown $400,000.00 since your post 30 mins ago.

We need math on goal at 400k per 30 mins. I need breakfast. Think that's 260 days to goal?

PT Barnum was right.

As I type this, the account is North of $3.5 million. That's impressive, but there are only 57,000 or so donors. That's not the Voice of the People....it doesn't even register as a percentage of voters.

It's not a political movement. It's barely enough people to classify as a cult.

Of course not. The money would have to somehow be deposited into the federal treasury, and then Congress would still have to appropriate the funds to be spent on the wall.

People who give money to this fund are fricking idiots, unless they're just spending their money to make a political statement

Disagree 100%. Lets say worst case scenario, that this gets really going and gets to somewhere near 500 mill to 1 billion. That will force some major decisions. No chance in hell would our elected officials have the balls to rob the American people of their donations. That would cause a scene of epic proportions. The "Yellow Vest" movement would have nothing on what would happen if the government didn't appropriate the funds from this GoFundMe account. What happens if this gets anywhere near 5 billion? What happens then? Crazier things have happened in this country.

"Lets say worst case scenario, that this gets really going and gets to somewhere near 500 mill to 1 billion."

Yeah...in a country that has elected a Democratic majority to Congress.

If there were enough people to give that kind of money, there wouldn't be the need to, because those people would already be in power in Congress.
