Renters that aren’t paying aren’t going to feel an ounce of pain.

They have pocketed the money and will just move out and find another rental. It would take a long time for a landlord to get a judgement and even with that they will not be guaranteed a dime. The renters know this and will use it to their advantage.

The banks that will get stuck with any defaulted mortgages are the ones that will fight to get bail out money.

The guy that has a few rental properties and no way to pay the mortgage back will be the ones getting hosed, as they are now.

Our government is dumb as dirt.

I’m selling while the market is on fire and going into a rental for the interim, hoping to jump when it all comes crashing down.

Inflation is already ripping and will continue, regardless if the government acknowledges it or not. Unfortunately the printing our idiotic government has done will drive it. The problem this time is the fed has backed itself into a corner. When rates have to go up like the 1970’s to tamp out inflation the government will not be able to continue the borrowing and will be at risk of a default. Not sure what to own other than metals, commodities, and tangible assets. Equities probably get punished with 30% of the market likely zombie companies that the fed helped stay afloat the last year with all the handouts instead of allowing the market to clear them out. This mmt experiment won’t end well.

Sadly, there’s a whole herd of elephants that seems like will inevitably trample over us all. Your example is certainly one, though.

It's even more scary that they just decided to quit keeping up with it on March 23rd.
I guess when it's bad, just quit counting and it can't get worse.

M1 is the amount of circulated money.
We printing that shite.
We went off the gold standard with Nixon, Bush and Cheney enriched their people with Afghanistan/Iraq, and over the past couple years, we been going overload. I’m not getting any money. Wonder where it’s going...

By the way, seeing that graph enrages me in a bad way. Makes me not want to pay taxes.

And all those apartments going for 1.5 times value will be vacant and unrentable. Those folks not paying rent will trash the joint and leave. And landlords will not be able to afford repairs. So a ton of distressed properties will flood the market and just not be worth fixing (lumber is stupid high as is skilled workmen).

Biden will step in and bail out the housing market overvaluing the market and causing a follow up crash.

You will NEVER be able to evict a minority in this country again.
Sounds crazy, but it is where we are headed.

No, we are already there.
They have to damage your property in a provable way to evict them at this point and that ain't changing, EVER AGAIN

significant portion of renters are behind on monthly rent. It's doubtful they'll all magically get caught up in short order and if they're multiple months behind with no realistic chance of ever getting caught up they're going to be in a bind.

Enhanced unemployment benefits has mitigated this issue to a degree but that will likely run out around the same time.

Then what? Hordes of new homeless on the streets? Will landlords need to lower rent to adjust to demand?

This will eventually be a huge reckoning

Didn’t you hear? The Global Elites are going to call for a Jubilee and forgive all our debts.....in exchange for our personal freedoms.

With unemployment bumps in pay and stimulus. I imagine many are paying their rent or mortgage.

I think the only ones taking advantage of this moratorium; are in a repetitive status of their non payment of rent status. Carpetbaggers or the poor that will be assisted.

90% chance they're right. Everything is upside down - you're an idiot if you're paying your mortgage. Especially if you're black, Hispanic, gay, trans, Asian, or just really hate Trump.

Nothing will happen. Biden will issue an executive order extending the moratorium. He will then pass legislation to throw all landlords in Jail if they dare evict a non paying tenant.

As it should be. If people were blowing stimulus on TV's and rims, and not paying their bills, that's on them. I absolutely love how the Socialist Left has absolutely removed "Self-Responsibility" from every single thing in this world. We are raising a society of self-entitled pussies.

And thus you've figured out the real reason they want to drag this pandemic out. The corner has been painted with eviction and foreclosure moratoriums.
