Yes. You generally have to have licensed subcontractors to named to perform MEP work to even get the permit issued.
Amazes me how some people cannot read.

Where did I say you need to hire the dumbos that generac is paying the lowest bidder?

My comment was in response to the guy who “watched some YouTube videos”

Hire reputable all in one local gen company or sub it out as you see fit. But don’t think you can DIY. You won’t get a permit without licensed subs doing the work.
No tax on tips is so fricking dumb.

Remove that and we’re good.

And the service folks are going to regret this perk anyway… imagine the resentment on top of peak tip culture already.

A lot of people are going to dial back their generosity if they know it’s tax free. Which, maybe is a good thing in the long run- but still dumb policy

If the transfer switch is already in, it’s not a hard process afterwards. Power doesn’t even need to be disconnected to hook up the generator. I had the transfer switch hooked up when we built just like you. Built a pad myself and ordered the generator from Norwall Power on the Internet. Plenty of videos on YouTube on how to run the gas, which hopefully is installed next to each other. I didn’t hook up the generator to the transfer switch myself because I didn’t want to shock myself, but after watching the guy my wife paid to install it I’m mad I didn’t do it myself. My buddy used to install generators and was supposed to hook it up but we could never get a weekend together and she got tired of waiting. We paid him $200 for less than an hour of work, since I built the pad, ran the gas, and bought all the materials.

And when your house burns down and your insurance realizes you didn’t obtain a permit or upsize your gas meter you will be SOL.

Amazes me what people think it worth saving a few grand on.

The biggest caveat is the pro-rata rule that basically makes it unattractive to do this if you have any traditional (pre-tax) IRAs in your name. A SEP or SIMPLE IRA would also count here. If you have any traditional IRA, you need to really talk through the backdoor strategy with your CPA.

This… it’s all simple until this.

You’ll possibly want to roll your current traditional IRAs into a 401k to “clean the slate” so to speak before doing this yearly backdoor. Otherwise it’s more of a headache

Honestly believe 2/3 of the country would prefer a moderate authoritarian at this point. Washington is a corrupt self serving cesspool on both sides. Nothing is getting done with this broken system. Time to make some examples out of these traitors
Going to be an amazing place to visit one day
I’ll never understand why woke Minnesota imported a ton of Somalis. They’re crappy workers and do not assimilate. Mind boggling

Ended up doing the flex, it’s a solid card to have with their quarterly bonus. Rep. I spoke to said he recommended to wait until the current cycle closes, which will be in a couple weeks. So, fingers crossed it lasts until.

Thanks for the help!
It’s the freedom unlimited.

So sounds like I should make the CSR the freedom flex.
You think I can have 2 freedom cards though?
I was planning to transfer to my business ink.

I also have the freedom as my standby card already…

So do you guys think I would need to cancel the CSR and then wait 30 days?

This shite used to much simple when it was 2 years… 4 years certainly gets you settled in. But I guess that was the point.

I currently have the CSR, so if I call and cancel I need to wait 10 days before applying for CSP?

It’s been more than 4 years for me, so I’m good there.
