"Higher"education has become a profitable business now, while the quality of our educators has declined, and pressure (largely political) for grade score averages to increase have all combined to diminish the quality of a diploma.
Hell! Instead of trying to improve the quality of education, just dumb down the curriculum, and pump'em on through.

This is because there are more colleges and universities and admittance requirements are way lower at many of them, because it’s more about money and being a degree factory than it is about preparing a talented individual for a lucrative career. It’s not that people are dumber, it’s just many college students today couldn’t have gotten in back in the 1930s

do you even understand how IQ is measured and what a 102 means from 1939 and 2022 and why that could be the dumbest possible argument. On top of that, you are just pointing out that it was only for the elite 100 years ago.

The average person now goes to college now compared to then. Makes sense statistically.
However, the university should be a grounds for critical thinking. Not a good trend obviously.

Reminds me of the video of the girl who thought she was really smart due to college and her job at some pharma company, while rating some other due the opposite.
And when the results came in, she was at or near the bottom in IQ and he was at or near the top.
Sure, it's anecdotal. But also, very funny and likely more common/true than it should be.

It means the same thing. In 1932 it meant you were about average. It means the same thing right now.
