"Higher"education has become a profitable business now, while the quality of our educators has declined, and pressure (largely political) for grade score averages to increase have all combined to diminish the quality of a diploma.
Hell! Instead of trying to improve the quality of education, just dumb down the curriculum, and pump'em on through.
