In the 1930s, it was 121.2.

No wonder classes have been dumbed down.

They dumbed down schooling to collect more money, because it did not make intelligence go up if this is representative. It does follow, how they have made it easier to push people through the system.

There are millions of toads that cry for equal education. Minds are not created equal, they just are not.

Now superimpose a rising diagonal line showing the growth of HBCUs in the same timeframe.

Or just class size. UT probably has more students on campus today than the entire country had 100 years ago.

If we could only import more Guatemalans and Somalians, it will make everyone look like a genius

Oh really? I had no idea. Now that you mention it, I have noticed a much better experience on the board recently.

Not everyone was meant to go to college

That's why that bubble is bursting

what you learned in high school then is what you learn in college now

Bingo...

quote:

In the 1930s, the majority of undergraduate students were White, with very few students of color enrolled in higher education. Today, approximately 45.2% of undergraduates identify as a racial or ethnic group other than White, reflecting a significant increase in diversity in higher education.

I'd say from my experience in the 1960s it was about 120 at a private college like Tulane or Loyola and 112 at a state school like LSU. Racial integration wasn't big until the mid 70s and I have no idea what IQs were like at Grambling or Southern.
One big change is the prestige among parents. Sixty years ago if your kid got accepted to college you told the entire neighborhood, family and friends. It was time for big congratulations. Today if your kid is accepted to college it means they didn't die prior to age 19.

Dude's been banned for 2 weeks, and just his mention still derails threads. SMH.
