It's absolutely amazing how the staunchest liberals will finally leave a state that their politics have totally destroyed, then migrate to a state that's doing well, continue with their old politics until they take the new state down, then move along to the next.
There's a name for that type of creature in nature. It's called a....shite FLY.

Always seemed to be a mutual respect and understanding between Bama and UK. We made this conference. One of the best conversations I ever had was at a Bama UK basketball game in Tuscaloosa, around 1999 or 2000 I believe, with some older UK fans sitting next to me. I was 21 at the time and it was just a pleasure to talk to the older UK fans at that time. Mutual respect and admiration for Bama football and UK basketball was a conversation I could have partaken in for days.
I've had the same experience with Ky fans going all the way back to the late 60s. I was a Tide season ticket holder for many years when I lived in Tuscaloosa, and very much looked forward to both the huge Cat fan numbers, and their great knowledge of college basketball when they'd come to Tuscaloosa.
I once was at a small reception for Coach Rupp (I believe his last coaching year), and Coach Bryant. A lot of folks don't realize that they were BOTH coaches at UK for a while. What I remember most was the story that Coach Bryant told about the year (1950-1951) that Bryant won Kentucky's FIRST SEC championship, and Rupp won the Nat'l Championship
Coach Bryant told us that at the year-end Alumni Banquet, the University presented him with a beautiful gold watch with "SEC Champs" initialed on the back. After he thanked everyone for his fine watch, they called Coach Rupp up to the podium and presented him with.........a new Fleetwood Cadillac! Bryant said,"it was time to go!

Alabama is only good at one sport too chief.

Alabama is 2nd only to Kentucky in most SEC wins, I believe.

Great player, but gives up a lot on the defensive end.
I'm guessing that Cal wouldn't want him to play defense too tightly because (1) He needs to avert any chances of getting into foul trouble, and (2) he needs to save as much energy as possible. The kid played nearly the entire game including the OTs in last night's game, and if he had pressed his defensive effort, I suspect the quality of his offensive effort may have diminished late in the 2nd half....IMO. :dunno:

That would be some seriously crappy regular season games.

See Notre Dame. Might have 2 regular season games worth watching.
These kids that are seriously thinking this have no clue what the effect would be on the University as a whole, not just the Athletic Dept.

But 6 seed means we’d have to lose some games we shouldn’t.....
We can DO that! :dude:

Is it ok if Oats never plays Noah Williamson another second?

Look, he might get better one day, but FFS.

The announcer said last night that "Williamson has 14 secs. of playing time so far tonight, and has collected TWO fouls". I feel badly for the kid, but embarrassed for the coaches who were involved with signing him.
There's NO WAY anybody watched film of him, and made an offer.

I can think of 5 people in the world who desperately wanted Will Wade out of Baton Rouge.

1. John Calipari
2. Eric Musselman
3. NATE OATS
4. Dick Vitale
5. Scott Woodward

"Nate Oats holds a dominant record against Will Wade, highlighted by a 3-0 sweep during the 2020-21 season while at Alabama. Oats has generally had success against Wade, including competition when Wade was at LSU and previously at VCU, often getting the better of their matchups."

That's great because they've had a TON of it lately!

The team affiliation isn't important.
ANY player than displays vulgar behavior during a game should be immediately tossed, and suspended for a number of games.
Football and basketball have gotten bad enough, but the behavior that kid displayed is horrendous especially considering the fact that women and CHILDREN were in the stands. If the leagues, associations nor conferences will control it, then owners, managers or presidents should have the guts to handle it within their own organizations.
Not possible!
Alabama's a football school.

You DO realized that there's a bag limit on coonasses around here, right? Don't let Capt. Chicken catch you, and put you in the suspension pokie.

Have you seen where multiple systems have been integrated to see how they interact by themselves and are beginning, on their on, to establish a new language...one that humans aren't familiar with, and it would be exclusive to them?
No workie..no eatie!......ain't no SNAP in tha joint!

Besides, many of them like to get outside and socialize a little. There are NO whips and they're given regular breaks. What the hell do they want?...a swimming pool and a cabana?

Unless the post situation post Bediako improves this is a team with a sweet 16 ceiling that ill be far more concerned with which teams we have to play and the officiating that day than whether we're a 3 or a 6.

I see no reason to think we can beat any team with an elite front court or win consistently in games where the whistles are slow resulting in perimeter hand checking and grabbing off pick and rolls length or against teams with elite defensive length on the perimeter.

We're soft down low and small outside, we need to manage expectations IMO.
IMO, this is about right.
With the abundance of good shooting guards, I'm not sure why Oats doesn't turn up the pace and sprint the guards and #3 forward down the court on a rebound. IF they're having trouble getting open from the 3 point line, and not being able to penetrate the lane, I'd rather see them play a 3-on-3 game without the bigs, that fast breaks can bring. Also, It can wear out a team that's not very guard heavy.

This is a much larger issue than athletics.
More and more of the minorities and lower income whites are realizing the terrible condition (academically, culturally, and socially) the public schools have fallen to. Many are now doing whatever they can to give their kids a decent chance to succeed.
You've got to admire that. It's next to impossible for such a politically torn society to fix the problem from a governmental perspective..
That's just....sad.
They should consider playing the men's games as a leadup to the women's games, like they used to do when the NCAA wouldn't let freshmen play varsity, so the freshman teams would play each other before the real game.

They’ll drop down a seed line or two because of this and the wins will essentially be vacated.
Will that soothe all the butt-hurt wailing, crying and shirt throwing we all laughed at Saturday after the game?
Did you see where Oats signed, and had the rest of the team do the same, to the AUBURN shirt that was thrown at him after the game. It's been donated to a charity auction in Tuscaloosa!...seriously!!
