First time I ever voted early. I think a lot of Red votes are happening early, people nervous of super long lines day of. I waited 5 minutes and got it done.

If Texas had a chance of going blue, both Trump and Biden would be campaigning there.

Logic tells me that any Texan with half a brain will vote Trump simply bc of Biden’s anti drilling/fracking comments.

This could be happening across the country. That's why I think its a little foolish to assume Democrats need some certain percentage of early votes going into election day to have a chance.

Seriously, Scruffy. If Biden had any chance of getting Texas, he blew it at the debates.

Agreed. I think the biggest poll miss might be the huge split they had for Dems voting early versus Reps voting early. If anything, looks like both parties bases were rushing the polls early.

I've never voted early but did this year as most people in my office. All Trump voters.

Early voting is highly incentivized in TX, even before Covid. I went on election day in 2008 (first election cycle in TX) and haven't since.

Exactly. I know republicans typically vote on election day, but I think both sides are voting early a lot more this cycle.

What does that mean if both parties are voting early? Does that bode well for Trump or Biden? I don’t know how to read these polls.

I have no idea who it benefits more, and I don't think anyone knows for sure. It's just something to talk about right now.

Same here.

People are voting early to avoid wearing a mask in a long line

Which candidate has the more motivated voters behind it? Nothing about Biden is motivation Democrat record turnout. He would have to outperform Obama D turnout to take Texas. That isn’t happening

Have you ever seen a more unified effort to take out a president? I can't remember ever seeing more "get out the vote" messages during an election cycle than this year. Not saying that is enough, but I think you're underestimating the push to vote Trump out of office.

meaning the polls are understating support for Trump by an average of about 7%.

Now imagine this across all states and see what the map looks like

There are two types of early voting:

1. Mail-in ballots
2. In-person voting

Dems have big leads in mail-in ballots because Republicans don't trust that process and aren't as afraid to go out in public during Covid.

Early in person is probably more equal.

*it should be noted that every state has different rules and laws regarding early voting. Some only allow by mail, some require strict excuses to obtain a mail ballot, some allow early voting in only certain places or for certain times. The point is you can't compare states or apply generalizations, you have to deep dive into each state to read tea leaves.

Agree. I think a lot of people here underestimate it and that's the only thing that has me worried. A lot of people hate the man. A lot.

This I'm not so sure. I remember for Hillary you had MASSIVE celebrities not only pushing to vote but actively campaigning for her. I distinctly remember Jay-Z and beyonce telling their arenas to go vote for her. What I'm seeing now is the athletes and celebrities pushing the "go vote" message. Similar but not quite the same.

Holy crap man, get ahold of yourself. You're starting to shite the bed.

I've posted my own concerns about voting in my area, and I'm concerned, but you're basically conceding already.
