Go back to the archives of 2016, plenty of articles that Hillary could win Texas. She didn’t come close.

Trump by 4 in Texas. By 2024, it will be labeled a swing state.

Even Texas might go blue.

I don’t see this trending well for Trump.

Not sure early voting means "Dem" voting.

I'm in La, every Trump supporter I know voted early. Not mail-in (nobody trusts that), they went out to vote at one of the sites. As did I.

You (we) know who we want to vote for, go ahead and get it done ahead of time. If something pops up to interfere, you still have Nov 3 to fall back on.

Early voting is kinda like streaming; you pick the time, instead of waiting for it.

Every republican I know has already voted. The big republican turn out has always been election day.

That's fine but it contradicts itself

How so? Stats show the big turnout is alway on Tuesday for republicans.

I will also tell you that most democrats I know have already voted as well. That make you feel better?

9,009,850 votes already cast, vs. the all-time record of 8,969,226 in 2016.

I'll admit my ignorance on this subject from the jump. I had no clue that many people early voted every year. Having said that is this really as big of a story as everyone is making it out to be? That's an increase of what, 40-50k early voters?

When you factor in Rona Virus, new voters (18-20 yr olds), people that haven't voted before or haven't voted in decades, is the increase really that significant? Wouldn't you expect the number to go up considering the number of voters has increased? The real stat should be based on percentage, right?

When I saw the numbers I was shocked until I saw the numbers for '16. It seems like a giant nothingburger. Am I missing something?

That’s not what it means, the early voting has surpassed the previous total including Election Day

Ok, that's the clarification I needed. It wasn't reading that way to me. Now I see what the issue is.
