nobody gives a shite about Obama right now, you think Trump knows CDC policies and procedures? Anything Trump said about the previous administration and the CDC he was told by CDC staffers. So shut the frick up and get out of this thread

New regulations don’t allow for most medical test to be imported that we have in the past. The testing that was first used here didn’t work, so the medical field had to start over.

That is one of the reasons that testing is behind here.

Is this not true?

Correct.
CDC Director Dr. Redfield was the one who made the claim to Trump.

What was the failure? I'd prefer facts and proof, not suppositions and conjecture.

exactly

contrary to dimrat talking points, America is the shining example of doing everything right and that resulted in the lowest numbers of cases from any country world wide.

all while the dimrats went out of their way to spread fear and panic while still demanding open borders and no travel restrictions

I would guess that the initial approach was that if we don’t test we won’t have any confirmed cases.

"Don't take a temp if you don't want to find a fever" was the line from the House of God. CDC doesn't seem to have been getting pressure from the WH to find more cases.

It is a new virus, and most markets hadn’t been identified yet, and add in the Chinese not being very forthcoming with information on it.

Also, other countries were using tests that are not extremely accurate. They are declaring positives with some questionable tests. It’s since gotten better but without samples of the virus or legitimate and honest data from peer nations like China, there is not much that can be done.

In the end, there was also bureaucracy added in by the Obama admin to serve as a middle man between the FDA and CDC, which slowed things down.

Add on a media that is great exacerbating true panic with irresponsible and politically driven reporting and you get this mess. I am a liberal (non-democrat) saying this.

This has nothing to do with Trump, IMO.
So Trump had no executive power to have overruled their decision on kits?

Why is everyone so determined to make Trump into a fascist I get it, the media has been beating this drum for years but the guy, for the most part, delegates and tries to send things through the proper channels.

So using his executive powers makes him a fascist? And he has been afraid to exercise them to date? Link?

You have GOT to be kidding!

(1) The CDC claimed it "had this". Experts like Fauci vouched for CDC expertise. Johns Hopkins leaders told Trump CDC players were the best in the world. They said CDC has the best pandemic protocols in the world. Trump trusted them.
(2) Had Trump rejected all the above, the media would have gone nuclear.

OK. It's hard to know what to believe.

The whole thing about the Schumer tweet, e.g., was fake news.

Do you have any type of reliable source that is reasonably non-politicized that gives a good timeline/summary?
