Sounds like a Republican president is the only way to fix this shite.

Isn't the border #1 or #2 driving forces in the election? Maddening but plays well for Trump.

Oh man, that's not good. Many will see this as SCOTUS siding with this Marxist federal government and only raise tensions more.

Taking the long-term view here. If border security were up to individual states, it would give an opening for states like communist California to ignore Federal immigration law with impunity (assuming border security is ever actually enforced).
The problem is the lack of enforcement of existing Federal law and this is not fixed by Texas' actions. This doesn't help the parents of children raped and murdered by illegals or dying from fentanyl, I know. This country is fricked.

I am of the opinion that if the Fed fails to carry out its Constitutional duty, then the State can enforce that duty.

You mean like they already do?

The fix is in. If a state wants to ignore immigration law, it is free to do so. If a state tries to enforce the safety of the border, it is not allowed to do so.

Furthermore, it must bear the costs of infrastructure, education, crime and medical provisions for those immigrants that they were not allowed to keep from entering.

Would be interesting to see him force the administrations hand here.

What measure would the Biden Admin be willing to go to?

That could play heavily in favour of freedom and liberty in the upcoming election. I think this band of federal idiots in charge now could be easily set up for a major blunder of over reaction.

Oh I 100% agree with you. I'm just trying to rationalize the decision. It's fricked up.

You should not be.

Isn't that what California did during Trump's administration? CA thumbed their nose to the federal govt authority by arguing the state did not have to assist the federal govt. CA went so far as to ban border contractors from state contracts.
