Do you understand? Doing nothing, which is Trump's position, will lead to huge cuts. Yes or No? Just be honest.

Let's start with you being honest. Trump has a plan of action. It's not a do nothing plan.

Your demand that we accept a false narrative is funny!

It is folly. You are putting forth a pure fantasy. I am living in Realville.

No, I put forth his plan. It's not do nothing. It's you wanting it to be that.

So his plan is sort like his plan of “eliminating the lines” to fix health insurance? Or like Mexico paying for the wall? Those plans?

Look, the problem I have with Trump attacking from this position is that it’s weak AF. It’s really easy to go along with the conventional wisdom in that SS cannot be touched, reformed or changed.

And it’s OK to have that position. A lot of politicians, specifically liberals, have that same opinion.

The problem is that Trump can’t claim to be this outsider who is gonna wreck Shiite while basically taking the most establishment position on a serious issue because he is scared of the political fallout.

Now, if this were the only time Trump wasn’t a pussy, I’d cut him some slack. But after COVID, we now know that Trump is a just an old, weak establishment politician.

But he can, because his base is loyal and devoted. To him.

That's a non starter.

No reform.

He needs to be more like Trump regarding SS and not reform it and keep a program that's going insolvent untouched. Lord forbid he try to fix it, whether that be pushing the retirement age out a few years seeing how people are living longer or implementing a means testing or something else to keep it above water.

But I forget the Jjdoc argument that is extremely sound and intelligent: "the government promised me so I should get mine. I agree that it needs to be fixed or even done away with, but not until I get mine"

Don’t remember his name, but some dude was on War Room this morning who was part of Trump’s transition team, he was telling stories about how bad they underestimated the power of the DC Uniparty and the Bureaucratic State. This same dude was a college QB before hooking on as part of Trump’s personal security detail. He said Trump has tasked several previous members of his administration to vet 500-1000 people to be ready day one after he’s sworn in to gird themselves for battle.

I don't understand how that's his plan for social security

I just want a conservative administration back in the White House. Not a RINO, but an actual conservative. We need someone willing to take an axe to these massive bureaucracies. I'm tired of votes not mattering because some civilian appointee that's been there for 25 years is actually in control of day to day life.

They were led to believe that social security is a safety net to catch any seniors who fell on hard times and didn't have a 401k etc to retire on, that's it. It's not nor ever was meant to be a retirement plan. And people are living longer, as a result it only makes sense to adjust the retirement age to reflect.

Do they have to wait until 70 (or 65) to retire? No, if they have the means they can retire at 25 if they want. But to access the full benefits of the safety net then yes they have to wait it out which is how it should be.

You weren't promised squat, and even if you think you were that promise was made back when people weren't living quite as long. So was the promise made on faulty premises and this your end of the "promise" not held up?

It's ridiculous to not fix the program because you feel the government promised you something that you obviously misunderstood from the jump and if there is reform you just want yours first.

I was giving a general overview of Trump’s plan to begin the process of dealing with the entrenched bureaucrats and career politicians he will have to bring to heel before he gets busy working on domestic and foreign policies.

I agree but I think a lot of people don't even really understand what a RINO or GOPe etc are. Trump for instance is absolutely one of them, those who believe he's something different are completely delusional

Sure. Because most of them are receiving current benefits.
