Man, the writing is on the wall. It’s over
Trump and the Republicans shite the bad so bad the last 2 years that the majority of the country is ready to embrace hard core Socialism.
Republicans have ZERO shot in 28 and probably zero shot a VERY long time.
Sadly, they only have themselves to blame and the US as we know is DONE

The Dems will have to screw up enormously to make the Right palatable.
They have done that ECERY SINGLE time they have won anything.
Given the ever-increasing level of ignorance in the voting public that may not matter. I am going to love watching it unfold.

Dems may want to keep him around so they can lock in 2028.
Impeachment requires a high bar and has been unfavorable with voters.

Trump and Republicans need to take accountability. Don’t blame the electorate for Trump and the Republican congress’ bad decisions.
This lack of accountability will only help the Dems in 28

Had a former head of the entire GOP in Florida tell me exactly that back then. Said he would be the death of the party.
Whoever said this was is an idiot who doesn't understand politics.
It was stupid for DeSantis to run because of politics. He had no chance to win. It's stupid to run when you have no chance to win.
2028 was always the natural cycle for DeSantis to run. 2024 was a huge mistake.
Circumstance has now made him a big favorite for 2028. Both Vance and Rubio are unlikely to run. No one would have predicted that 6 months ago.

If you do that, you lose half of your electorate. I myself would never vote Republican again.

Nope. This is completely on the stupid people who voted D or stayed home. No one else. Trump has nothing to do with where this country is now headed.

To be clear he said Trump would be the death of the party in 2016, not that Desantis should run in 2024. I don't know what his thoughts were at that point.

Then frick em, to be honest.
We cater way too much to the stupid. If they want to throw a tantrum over holding one man on a pedestal over all logic and reason, what can you really do with them anyway?
This is how the GOP goes back to being irrelevant. You either figure out nobody wants the Bush/McCain/Romney party, or you concede the country.

Holy shite. We now have conservatives calling for the impeachment of their own president, and not even for a crime or misdemeanor they can name. Principled conservatives are now willing to violate constitutional principles and use anything they can find to remove a duly elected president.
Do you people even hear yourselves? You are openly calling for lawfare against your own party. Seriously, put aside the crack pipe and just think about what you are asking.
Do you idiots not realize that if you did this, the next republican candidate will have to run to the left of Trump to win? Do you realize that having a president removed will stain the only party that shares any of your values?
Can you not see that having Trump removed will give democrats all the sound bites they need to win in 2028?
Do you think the uninformed masses are going to vote for Republicans in 2028 because they had a president so bad that their own party had to remove him? Do you think this is really a winning message?
So many short-sighted imbeciles acting on pure emotion. We are so doomed.

Well, you're correct, as much as people will hate it, it would be strategically a very clever thing to do, and ironically, Trump greatly admires Nixon, and they were close since the 80s
Resign; have Vance give him and his family a pardon. Trump can ride off into the sunset of retirement; instead of writing books, he can create a YouTube channel, do movies, or get back into real estate.
Cut a deal with him and let him know he's gonna be able to open up resorts as soon as Rubio becomes administrator of Cuba

Impeach and remove Trump. You'll have the votes.
Find something he did improperly in regards to the Iran war or just use it in general since he was the main driver behind it. He is an idiot, so I'm sure there is something.
This gives the GOP a buffer from Trump for 2028, improves the GOP's optics on the corruption piece that was very important in exit polls, and then gives JD a 2 year audition to see if he can create chicken salad from chicken shite with a heavy Dem congress.
Blow it up. It would be better than sitting on your hands and likely losing 2028.
Trump has become an embarrassment over the last 18 months. His news conferences and other public appearances were jokes, what with all the bloviating, childish name calling, and weekly empty promises he spewed.
I agree with his political ideology, but, like 90% of the American people, I really despise his personality.
I vote for him, but its hard to if you don't like the person.

They have to cut bait from the fools in the White House, the architects of stupidity.
Last night Steven Miller and Pete Hegseth got repudiated as much as anyone else in the administration.

I just said something similar in another thread and am getting downvoted. Expect the same.
It's being downvoted because joining with the opposition to impeach a president of your own party for a ridiculous reason is the dumbest take to come out of this midterm election. And that's saying something
"Hey! If we drag the country through a bitter impeachment and remove the leader of our own party for a BS reason... we win!!!!"

Brother they are going to find corruption under every stone they turn over next year
The difference is they will actually DO something about it when they find it.
I’m really torn on whether the OP’s plan is the way or just blow up the Republican Party altogether and create a new conservative party. The problem with the latter is the time component.

Are we winning right now?
Have we been winning the past 2 years? Outside of the immigration successes, not really.
