For me? having a D next to your name is more than enough. The country has a slightly different take on things.

Zero juice at the top of the ticket and Trump is an anchor around the neck of the GOP everywhere now

what's your solution, then? Just let a guy who is clearly a poison pill do even more damage? And have the GOP be forced to at least somewhat defend him?

I'm not going to tell you my proposal is a great solution, but I will tell you its the best option we have.

No, there are no good options. It's over. The Senate map in 2 years is favorable to the Dems. The electorate just screwed the country. If they get the presidency in 2 years, they can do everything they've been saying they want to do.

As to your idea, alienating Trump's base is obviously not a winning strategy for Republicans. They cannot win without the Trump voters.

I hope he gets impeached and Vance gets a chance to show what he can do Trump is over. He needs to go retire somewhere and shut up.

Vance is well spoken, but he’s not ready.

The Trump mandate will fizzle out and a new wave of Republican leadership will emerge. And it is needed.

One thing you can count on, the Dems will screw up this Blue Wave event. It always happens. To be fair, the Republicans screwed up their opportunities too. It’s like all sense of logic and reason evaporate when a side gets back in power.

It’s the only move. He’s a cancerous tumor. The quicker he’s removed, the better for the patient.

You can do it without alienating Trump voters though.

The house can impeach without a single republican vote for it. What you actually do, though, is pick areas strategically where Trump doesn't have the hardcore base and have those Republicans vote yes.

In the Senate you do the same thing. You only need 13 republicans. Maybe the Alabama and Arkansas senators say no, sure. But I think its pretty clear Trump's base isn't what it was after last night.

Hell, in Florida we probably have a Dem governor succeeding DeSantis if Amendment 3 wasn't on the ballot.

One edit, not the electorate, but Trump screwed us over and his worshippers propped him up.

Then frick em, to be honest.

We cater way too much to the stupid. If they want to throw a tantrum over holding one man on a pedestal over all logic and reason, what can you really do with them anyway?

Calm yourself down, Shrimper Tard

I know you’re excited about last night’s victory, but you’re not getting Republicans to turn on the leaders of the party.

I pray the rest of the Dem party is like you, and they botch this victory handed to them.

It’s Democratic Socialism vs the Constitutional Republic Capitalism. Trump is done either way, but the basics choice remains. At least until Fascism (total Government CONTROL) ends choice.

And it should be Thune. If they had anything on Trump, his own party would have impeached him long ago. This is the worst idea I've ever read on this board

The people who vote Republican 100% of the time are not the problem. Sorry.

There is something deeper.

“Fall guy”, “improve optics”. Those are surface-level, shallow and desperate attempts to reach for power lost. Those are only short-term bandaids if one wants true freedom, in my opinion.

I also understand that this idea tends to be naive when it comes to the practical and realistic aspects of politics in the modern age.

Outside of Trump, the biggest loser last night was Vance.

Vance is already as useless as the tits on a turtle. But by god, he's a master at savagely taking down the left via social media.

Find something he did improperly in regards to the Iran war or just use it in general since he was the main driver behind it. He is an idiot, so I'm sure there is something.

I am split on this. On one hand, he resigns and lets Vance take the wheel for two years. But remember the Democrats can be vicious and will still try to investigate Trump and anything he has done into the ground and Trump would be there without a platform or an office to call the Dems out.

I am also pretty sure if Trump leaves, he will get Vance to give him a pardon or Vance will do it in an effort to end the investigations, but all that does is create an albatross on Vance like in 1976 with Ford pardoning Nixon and creates even more investigations.

So, it may be better for Trump to stay as one last FU to the Dems as a Lame Duck. But all that succeeds in seeding division in the country.
