Reopen the Strait and quit playing along with Iran’s talk-talk stall

With the Iran cease-fire on “massive life support,” it’s time for President Donald Trump to resume Project Freedom, and get the Strait of Hormuz open to normal commercial traffic.
Not Tehran’s traffic, of course: The blockade must continue until the Islamic Republic gives up its “nuclear dust” and verifiably ends its nuke programs.
The prez is entirely right that the Iranians have been “ ‘tapping’ us along, keeping us waiting,” making “totally unacceptable” counteroffers and generally “playing games.”
From the start, Trump said the cease-fire was subject to Iran’s “COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING” of the Strait.
It’s done no such thing — indeed, it’s tried to make the reopening the only thing it does, in exchange for an endless list of US concessions, including an end to the blockade, war reparations and recognition of Iranian sovereignty over the Strait.
Full opinion is worth the read.
Somewhere we've forgotten the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE and SAFE OPENING part.
It is the ONLY card (terror in the Strait) they have and we should take it away from them.
I recognize it is because the administration is trying to determine who they are dealing with, but I just have a hard time understanding why we aren't just providing escort (and forcing traffic, if needed) out of a conflict zone.

Instead of cease-fire, we should have sent the troops in.

Into Iran proper? Seriously? You ready for that many casualties? Sending troops into Iran is a logistical nightmare.

The street isn’t open because we are cutting off China’s oil. Anything else is stupid

How?

How are we going to do that? Ground invasion?
This is why we said we shouldn’t escalate to begin with: those missile launchers are cheap, replaceable by China and hard to track down.
And if one or a drone swarm gets through the consequences are horrendous.
Iran has all the leverage right now because they don’t care if their economy collapses because the Islamic nuts running that country don’t GAF.

Where has China been getting their oil since? Market price babbbbby

That's what this is about. It's what it's always been about.

This is one of the dumbest suggestions I’ve ever read on this board.
You have absolutely no idea what you’re suggesting.
It’s not even clear we have the munitions to do it even if we accepted the casualties the pentagon projects we’d incur during the invasion.
And then what? Iran is 2x the population of Iraq and half the country is mountainous like Afghanistan.
You volunteering to chase the dug in Shia militias out of caves and patrol streets in Tehran to keep the peace for the next decade like we did in Baghdad?
Chickenhawk.

You do realize China gets the overwhelming bulk of their oil from Russia, Malaysia and Brazil right?
Do you also think we would stop a Chinese tanker if they wanted to go through?
Be serious here.

6D chess. You’re going to like the way this turns out, patriots.

Not really. It's 160 miles from at least four allies' territory, and it's not like every branch of the military doesn't have a logistics crew that plans for ... exactly shite like this.
It's not Operation Barbarossa.

I agree but how would we do that short of sending in troops to seize the Iranian coastline?

Trump knows what he is doing and the reasons why.

You left this part out of your search:
quote:
with over half of imports coming from the Middle East
Your search also quite pointedly mentions the discounted oil China used to receive from Iran and Venezuela (that would be the Malaysia part above).
Used to.

shite you're correct. Trump is just doing the bidding of his jewish overlords.
All US strategy is now directed by Tel Aviv.

turns out the "love tap" we gave Iran had far more significance than the MSM would have us reaalize
three US destroyers went in as bait
12 AWACS were deployed in the area for surveillance
Drones were also stationed overhead
Satellites were fixed on the region
and they waited
when Iran took the bait and tried to attack the USN ships we were waiting and observed where the fast attack boats came from, where the missiles were launched from and where the mine layers came from as well
then we blew them all up with air strikes. So now Iran is basically dead in the water (no pun intended) with the one offensive strategy they still had going for them. The question is will the IRGC leaders admit it or will they continue pretending like they have the initiative?

Well now, you went and made me actually search the topic rather than go off the top of my head.
I think I just read what you read and if so, why do you leave out how much China has stockpiled? It is enough to last for months and months if disruptions in imports occur.
I also see where it says no one truly knows how much they can get from Russia and that amount can increase drastically if needed.
Seems like we better be ready for this dust-up to last for a long time if this really is a play to affect China. Would have been easier to just blockade China itself.
