If one boogeyman isn’t working go find another (China). If anyone thinks this sloppy disorganized mess was to get at China they are living in another reality.

china has about 100 days of reserves in storage - if they haven't already started tapping into

Bait and switch on this since the cease-fire.

Iran says they are willing to negotiate, and 100% knowing what we will accept, they return their list a few days later, and concede nothing.

The Threat level on our an Israel’s end escalates..

Iran says they are willing to negotiate.

It appears Trump and his montley crew have absolutely zero clue what they are doing and also don’t even know the reason why or can articulate what the entire point of this “war” is

Trump is creating leverage.

Xi wants Iran to be able service its sovereign debt (Belt & Road)

it will be interesting to see the results of this weeks US -China delegation

What I just read(after Sentinel told me about my search I hadn't made yet), stated that they have spent 2024 and 2025 building and filling storage capacity and that final capacity figures were sketchy at best.

100 days may be accurate AFAIK. Are we ready for 100 days of this?

I’ve seen 120 days of cover based on a 1,400 Mb total inventory so that seems in the ballpark.

Sure but China produces oil (~4.5mmbpd) and also buys oil from countries not constrained by the strait of Hormuz

Dumb comment.

They aren’t drawing from it now. As I understand they have been adding to it during the war.

Optics of them getting lucky and damaging one ship isn’t worth the trade for a few more weeks of it being closed.

The average driver in America is feeling about a Starbucks a day difference due to gas prices. Yes, it sucked this morning when it took $142 to fill my truck, but it’s not the end of the world.

Plus, I think Trump is allowing the stall to get some new bombs delivered. Iran will either agree or go boom soon.

Not really. It's 160 miles from at least four allies' territory, and it's not like every branch of the military doesn't have a logistics crew that plans for ... exactly shite like this.

It's not Operation Barbarossa

The fighting in Russia was much more symmetrical than anything we would see in Iran. Iran has prepared for this for over 30 years. It is how they built their military. We think we did something by taking out their navy and their airforce. The navy was about a dozen true fighting vessels and all were small. The airforce did not have the nickname "fighting museum" for no reason. No, they have invested totally into defensive ground forces, drones and missiles.

Overall, much more difficult than Iraq or A-Stan ever was. We would suffer enormous casualties.

The US Energy Information Agency

estimates are about 1.4 to 1.5 billion barrels in stock in China which is about 100 days worth at current consumption rates

It looks like the strategy might be let the countries affected by the closure suffer some more. Playing a longer game for the benefit of the USA. It’s been a while since a president did this. I could be wrong of course. I don’t have the need to be right as some on this board. Let’s see where this goes.

they were adding about 1.1 million barrels per day to stock before feb 28

highly unlikely they are still adding at current market rates when they had to replace the oil they got from Venezuela and Iran at current market rates

had a conf call with a Saudi on Friday and he said that the Saudis have re-directed their cargo shipping from Dammam to Jeddah. The Saudis are helping the Kuwaiti Govt deal with the blockade as well
