Used to think that Trump wasnt doing this for money because he was already very wealthy. I thought his wealth gave him a particularly unique platform to govern without the distraction of being manipulated for money.

Wrong

He’s (and family) making more money on his position as president than the past 5 presidents combined!

What if he's a Trans Black Muslim Billionaire?

And he was like "I'm for your point of view but in a extreme kinda way."?

Was Vietnam going to attack the United States? Why exactly did we "need" anyone to fight in Vietnam?

Trump aside, its kind of baffling to be defending the Vietnam war today.

Yes, several of Trump‘s companies have filed for bankruptcy in the past.

Does the Constitution ban billionaires from holding office? If the public doesn’t want billionaires to hold office, then don’t vote for them.

Half the population is either few paychecks away from bankruptcy or has filed for it.

It is a legal mechanism that millions take advantage of. You should try educating yourself on a topic

No problem with a billionaire so long as they dedicate themselves to public service while in the job.

Dude. This country was started because because people realized being randomly born into ruling families didn’t automatically mean they’d be good leaders. Now you’re saying someone randomly born into wealth equates to success.

This country was started because of taxation without representation and individual freedoms. And yes most people who are born into wealth are still successful because of having more opportunities than others. I’m not saying it’s right but it’s absolutely true.

Lol what? Didn’t you just argue this is bad?

A lot harder to buyoff, bribe, or extort a billionaire than a simple millionaire. When you get to that level of wealthy, I think you worry more about your legacy and doing things that get favorable writeups in the history books.

There is nothing uniquely qualifying or uniquely disqualifying about billionaires. There are just things they might have a unique perspective on and other areas where they might be lacking, which can be said of literally any sub-group of people you could list.

You are right that they can be out of touch. They could have conflicts of interest. But they also have knowledge about how systems and organizations work that even very successful people do not. They know what certain actions result in on a macroeconomic level far more personally than 99.9% of people ever will.

It depends on how they made it, what they started with, and what arena do they know.

On it’s surface NO, a bad idea for obvious reasons.

A personality type like Trump that was on the ground in his buildings daily, yes.

A new tech billionaire, absolutely hard NO.

You know what most people who get to that level of wealthy do? They try to get to the next level.

And we've all watched it play out no matter who's in the WH.
