I legitimately didn't know who Jett was, though.
Life has hit me in several hard (and good!) ways the past 3 years and I've not kept up with Bama football like I used to.
Learned a while ago to not let 18-21 year olds dictate my happiness.
Kid is legit though, Nebraska boy.. impressive stats!

Not wanting a billionaire as POTUS =/= wanting someone who is bankrupt...

re: I for one am excited to see the Dem plans to lower inflation and gas prices!!

It’s unreal how fricking stupid people are, Obama and Biden had prices as high and higher w no fricking war, remember they paid for Iran’s nuke program while telling us to pay for Ukraine at the pump.
Per Grok:
No, average gas prices were not higher under Barack Obama than under Donald Trump when evaluating their full records.
While the historical average during Trump’s first term ($2.48 per gallon) was lower than Obama's multi-year tenure average ($2.97 per gallon), Trump's second presidential term (which began in January 2025) has seen significantly higher prices due to global conflicts.
According to data tracked by the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas prices under Trump's second term have averaged $3.46 per gallon through late 2026, marking some of the highest historical averages across recent administrations.
Overall Term Comparisons
A direct breakdown of the average and peak prices across their respective terms clarifies how the periods differ:
Presidential Term/National
Average Price/Peak Price Reached
Barack Obama (2009–2017) $2.97 / gallon $4.17 / gallon
Donald Trump (First Term) (2017–2021) $2.48 / gallon $2.96 / gallon
Donald Trump (Second Term) (2025–Present) $3.46 / gallon $4.50 / gallon
Key Differences in Trends
• The Peaks: The highest single price recorded under the Obama administration was $4.17 per gallon. In contrast, the peak under Trump's second term reached $4.50 per gallon in May 2026 following geopolitical instability.
• Duration of High Prices: Under Obama, the national average exceeded $4.00 per gallon during approximately 7% of his weeks in office. Under Trump's second term, the national average has remained above $4.00 for more than 30% of his tenure.
• Macroeconomic Factors: Presidents have limited direct control over short-term fuel costs. Obama's terms saw high prices driven by global commodity demands before crashing due to a Saudi price war. Trump's first term benefited from pandemic-related lockdowns that dropped prices to historic lows ($1.77 in 2020), while his second term has been impacted by the economic fallout of domestic fuel costs and international conflicts.
Now Sleepy Joe
Average gas prices are lower today under Donald Trump's second term than the highest peaks reached under Joe Biden, but Trump's cumulative second-term average has now surpassed Biden’s overall four-year average.
As of November 4, 2026, the national average for a gallon of regular gas stands at $4.12.
A direct comparison of how today's prices stack up against the full terms of both presidents highlights the shifting data:
Metric Comparison
Metric
Joe Biden (2021–2025) Donald Trump (Second Term, 2025–Present)
All-Time Peak Price
$5.01 / gallon (June 2022) $4.56 / gallon (May 2026)
Overall Term Average
$3.46 / gallon $3.47 / gallon
Price Status Today ($4.12)
Lower than Biden's $5.01 peak
Higher than Trump's $3.47 term average
Understanding the Trends
• The Current Spike: While gas prices have been ticking downward over the last few weeks, today's $4.12 average remains heavily elevated. This is largely due to geopolitical instability in 2026, specifically the outbreak of conflict involving Iran and the subsequent closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a major global oil transit lane.
• Historical Context: Under Biden, the national average briefly crossed the historic $5.00 mark in mid-2022 due to post-COVID inflation and the start of the Russia-Ukraine war. However, prices under Biden sat below today's $4.12 mark for roughly 94% of his time in office.
Because the current 2026 energy crisis has sustained prices above $4.00 for several consecutive months, Trump's second-term average has narrowly overtaken Biden's four-year average.

Off topic: asked AI to dumb down what a local levy is
Posted by roletiddies on 11/5/26 at 4:26 am
First post here, be gentile. I was curious as to how AI explains things to the layman in hopes to get a grasp of the younger voter's mindset, since ya know, they all just ask ChatGPT/Grok/Claude/Gemini anyway... (I'm currently on work relocation in Ohio, so I used Columbus as a base point.
What is a Levy? (The Big Pot)
Imagine your village needs a giant community soup pot to feed the campfire guards (teachers, firefighters, police).
The chief cannot just grab meat from your hut. Chief must ask village first.
• Levy is when village votes: "Do we all throw extra meat into the big pot?"
• Vote YES: Everyone gives up some meat. Campfire guards stay happy.
• Vote NO: No meat. Campfire guards leave. Sabertooth tiger eats village.
2. What is Millage? (The Slice of Meat)
Millage is just the rule for how much meat you must throw into the pot based on how big your hut is.
• 1 Mill = You give 1 tiny berry for every 1,000 sticks your hut is worth.
If you have a small mud hut (low value), you give a few berries.
If you have a giant stone castle hut (high value), you give many berries.
3. The 3 Kinds of Votes
When chief asks for a vote, it is usually one of these three things:
• Operating Levy (The Soup): Money to buy food right now to keep guards alive today.
• Bond (The Cave): Money strictly used to build a bigger, stronger cave. Chief cannot use this money to buy food. Only rocks for walls.
• Renewal (Keep Fire Going): You already give 5 berries a year. Chief asks: "Can we keep doing exactly that?" Your pile of berries does not grow.
What Happened in Columbus Suburbs? (Caveman Edition)
• Upper Arlington & Pickerington & Bexley: Chief asked for way more berries to build new caves and buy soup. Villagers said NO. No new berries.
• South-Western: Chief said, "Give me rocks to build two new caves, but I promise it will cost the exact same berries you are already giving me." Villagers said YES.
• Westerville & Hilliard: No vote today. Campfire already has wood.
----
My 2 cents that matter not: the GOP needs to find ways to connect to the youth/future voters... and if it means you have to play their game, then play it better than them.
Thanks for reading

Not sure if Vance has a chance. His endorsement of Vivek's ad against Amy Acton really pissed Ohioans and with that, other American citizens, off.
The GOP needs someone under the age of 50/55/60 to get the younger white male vote back.
Who is our next Charlie?

re: How much will Neyland crowd noise affect Kentucky this weekend ?
Posted by roletiddies on 11/5/26 at 3:43 am to kywildcatfanone
this is new ground for BBN... top seeded teams, especially in-conference in-division roles, have to face a different kind of loud at Neyland.
Neyland and TAMU/USCe are 2 completely different venues when the season is on the line.
As much as I want UK to win, it seems weirdly daunting to me... UT wins on a field goal with 24 seconds left
31-28 UT

who the heck is Jett Thomalla?
edit: it'd be surprising if Sanders, Brown, EJ or RCW play this weekend.
hate saying this but I fully expect tiger stadium to rattle Russell. LSU wins by 10-14 points.
Ryan Grubb will still keep his position, so don't worry fellow SEC fans, as long as we have him, we pose zero threats
