Those people who decide to not pay anymore are creating big problems for themselves that will keep them in their so-called “poverty”

The amount of selfishness in those posts is disgusting. Make others (including the non-college educated) pay for your mistakes.

By design.

They have subreddit leadership who will be there to intentionally destroy that sub as well as ones who encourage behavior officially banned by the site such as “brigading” downvotes against political opponents.

Why, isn't that the message of their dear leaders?

But wait, that doesn't mean me or my wife that signed our name to repay the loans? We were forced, hoodwinked, told a lie. I want reparations, pay my damn debt now!!!!!

Holy shite. So not only do they want to bail out idiots who spent six figures on a gender studies degree to be a Starbucks barista, but they also want to bail out those who failed out before they got said gender studies degree.

The people advocating for free college and student loan forgiveness are generally the people who were too dumb to get a major that qualified them for a good paying job.

The stupidity hurts.

Why don’t they demand the colleges pay their debt off?

There's no limit to the number of dumb ideas one can come up with when you start from the premise that money the government spends comes from unicorn farts

This part is generally true. I've always laughed at the idea that student loan forgiveness was somehow going to help the disadvantaged. LOL. It would be a giant give away to people who, on average, make more than the population.

Same for free college. WTF is that? Free college ain't helping the poor. The poor qualify for college at a far lower rate. Free college is another middle and upper class give away.

Just like making Election Day a federal holiday. Guess who still won’t get the day off?

I have a friend who discovered its cheaper for him to continuously enroll in community college and defer his repayments while he's a "student". Its a matter of $350/semester or $795/month.

And he is going to also eventually find that he can only afford to live at the Salvation Army. “Hey”… it’s cheaper to do community college as a living while adding to the balance of his option.. and eventually his reality.

These are the people that call republicans stupid folks!! You can’t make it up.

It is disgusting. Why should I have any sympathy for someone who went to an expensive college and got a useless degree they can't pay back? Why should I have to subsidize their poor decisions.

It really is. Go to a cheap state school, live at home, get a degree in a STEM field and your reward is paying for dumb asses who made bad decisions.

Once again those who are responsible in their lives have to pay for those who aren’t

Why should I be responsible for someone else's college degree? I'm already saving our nickels so we can pay for our own kids when the time comes... my boy definitely has him some STEM smarts.

Frick these greedy entitled Leftists, hemorrhoids on the arse of the USA, who demand the taxpayers foot the bill for their useless degrees then turn around and make fun of "trumpanzees" I mean the blue collar working class folk who pay taxes.

Wholeheartedly agree, people must pay for their own mistakes. We really need a movement to ban all forms of bankruptcy. If people opened a business and it failed, they should have to repay every single cent they owe, not get bailed out by filing for bankruptcy. Same goes for homeowners who can't pay their bills, they bought the home, they need to pay for it. And naturally, same goes for corporations and airlines who ask for bailouts constantly. After all, if student loans aren't eligible for bankruptcy, why should any other type of loan be?
