Coherent, rational analysis. That woman is a gem, and probably leaves a trail of butthurts, nursing their denial of a positive ME outcome.

Those of you that are big time MAGA / Trump fans… how do you think he is doing with Iran?
Extremely poorly. He could be f$&king this up worse, but he could have avoided f$&king it up at all. It is a mind numbingly stupid unforced error that flies entirely in the face of everything he campaigned on. It is one of the few Trump actions I cannot even pretend to support.
I agree with you 1,000%.
And right now you have 6 upvotes vs. 0 down votes.
What I don't get is that posts blasting Trump get heavily upvoted, but the diehards love Hegseth, despite how badly this thing has been fricked up.
Hegseth had ABSOLUTELY ZERO practical relevant experience to qualify him to lead the War Department, in his relatively limited military service. But if you dare point that out, the Trumptards on this board assume you voted for the baby killing, pedo loving, straight woman hating, Trans loving, open border degenerates. It's fricking stupid. It's like they think Hegseth's splooge tastes even better that Trump's .

Or, even better, why didn't he tell the American people before the election what he was going to do?
Because Kamala fricking Harris would be President right now, that's why.

And JD Vance or Marco Rubio could have done all that without this fricking war.

Try to find a couple of brain cells to rub together long enough to grasp this fact: There are future elections to be won or lost. And Donald Trump doesn't give a shite about that.

I guess the thread is getting a bit afield from Iran.
But your response is a reminder that there is just zero agenda right now. Like Trump controls all three branches of government. Remember all the fear/hope about the trump agenda - yet the debt and deficit keep getting larger, nothing to replace or repeal Obamacare. And there’s a TON of time left, but just….nothing. We get executive orders that’ll be reversed or overturned, obsession with tariffs. Oh a ballroom. A war we are losing. There was a big legislative achievement with immigration. The SAVE act which .. fine whatever but it’s not even approaching the sort of reform ambitions I imagined.

Hated it from beginning
Still hate it
Only way to resolve is to go Hiroshima means. Which I am unwilling to support because the current national security interest truly belongs to a country that isn’t mine.
We’re now going to go back and forth over the Strait of Hormuz for 100 years. Or until the 4 horsemen show up.

Such nincompoopery.
He controls the executive, and has great sway in the House.
But he can't even get a floor vote on his highest priority bill in the Senate.
So take that shlt outside.

As someone mentioned this is far larger than Iran. It’s about the controlled rebels that are also fighting in other countries. It is true that Trump either miscalculated on the time it would take or was delaying the need for a vote on the war powers act. If I recall correctly and I may not, any action over 90 days or uninterrupted fighting or conflict requires a vote. This may be the reason for the stopping and restarting in this conflict. I also believe Trump wants to persue a chance at peace instead of killing may people if we are to go forward. In the meantime at a minimum he has made a mess of Irans military through bombing. He has also put an economic strangle on Iran and its economy without turning out the lights and depriving the country of fresh water even if I believe we did hit a desalination plant or two. In my view this conflict has gone very well and is not over yet. I take Trump at his word regarding Iranian nukes and the country is in a better position than ever regarding regime change as difficult as that might be with the brutality of the current regime many of whom have been killed. If we can’t get the straight open soon, I expect their will be a full blown war with boots on the ground. Hopefully we can avoid that but the citizens of Iran who have slaughtered do deserve better even if it would likely cost many American lives.

This is what I think we were hoping would happen. We start a war with Iran because surely the people are going to overthrow the government once we kick things off, take out their leadership, and crush their military. Well, that hasn't happened and Trump knows full well the costs of losing American lives to pointless wars considering he has bashed W Bush over and over for going to war with Iraq.

That's like taking out the Pope and expecting the Catholics would help you win the war. It was never going to happen. They are a religious people. The anti-regime crowd is small and atheists. They are like the LGBT group in our society, very vocal and loves to protests with signs, but when it comes down to fighting, they don't have it in them.

I do believe that Trump wants to find peace. I think that is sincere. And I think his purported “dove” critics, including but not limited to Tucker Carlson just think that because it is Unwinnable w/o something protracted that it’s a betrayal to even try.
Peace at any price isn’t a strategy, and ultimately it’s not even a way to ever get it. You have to be willing to leave it all on the table.
I just think that another country acting like an a-hole isn’t the reason you go in guns blazing. My criticism is that Trump believed his own bullshite and now we’re stuck.

I think it is only something that we will be able to judge in retrospect.
I personally would view success as either regime change or a total lasting neutering of the IRGC so they will leave the rest of the world the frick alone. If this outcome is the case, I will be happy someone had the balls to finally do something about an international menace.
If that never comes to pass, it will have been a major military and political failure and I will blame Trump for his miscalculation.
Likely we will not know either outcome until after Trump has long left this earth.

Yawn.
Time for armed forces to earn their money.
I'm just ready for him to drop the hammer so we can move on.

Voted for Trump twice but this has completely derailed and tarnished his second term.
