This post represents such an enormous misunderstanding of both the underlying data and how to accurately depict it that I’m not interested in writing it all out. In the unlikely event you’re interested, any AI will help you understand why the units, axes, and underlying data are all used deceptively. But whatever. Believe it if you like. It’s very similar to how Biden and George HW Bush tried to tell voters the economy was amazing when voters knew it wasn’t.

Probably trumps most outrageous broken promise. This was supposed to be repealed. His plan for reform was coming.

Now he fully controls government and there’s not even a whisper about a healthcare policy.

There’s a type of TD post that is sort of the opposite of trolling. Instead of posting to provoke rage in your opponent, this style of post is characterized by a lazy, low effort screed (often, as here, devoid of factual content and containing only randomly capitalized epithets) meant to momentarily thrill one’s own team. I guess “circle jerk” ?

I kinda feel like, if we can’t stop any of this (and it seems we can’t), they should just be open access and we can all stalk everyone.

I actually don’t disagree with you really. Dems have a talking point about taxing billionaires - but even those fantasies would do little for the budget.

Essentially both parties want to cut taxes and expand government spending.

Republicans get zero credit for any budgetary responsibility tho. Just look at spending levels, debt and deficit. And oh by the way they are constantly trying to make it worse:

The city is a mess, like it’s always been. It’s also one of the world’s great places. There’s nothing conservative about cheering its demise or failing to value its historical, cultural, and economic importance.

Luckily, there’s reason to be optimistic about the new mayor. Glad they found a rich lady who seems reasonable because it’s a terrible job for so many reasons (hence why it has been filled with such losers in the past).

Oh yeah didn’t mean to imply I wouldn’t sign up. I will. If it’s still going like this, my opting out won’t change anything. Still, structurally, it’s a system that misallocates scarce resources and I wish I had a party or candidate to vote for that took it seriously.

I’m not sure why you’re addressing this question to me as I am not a democrat. I am also middle-aged and high income/high net worth so I doubt I even speak for the demographic that has the most to gain from a more sane fiscal policy. But what we were talking about here is the kind of fiscal policy described in the Manhattan Institute paper i linked to above, which would dramatically cut spending as a priority above raising taxes
