Pundits are trying to equate Fox News’ drop in ratings to Trump losing popularity.

They really don’t get it. There is massive disconnect from whatever class the media thinks they are connected with and reality.

HOME TV TV NEWS TV Ratings: Why Fox News Suffered Its Largest Pre-Election Month Drop in the Past Decade

quote:

Pundits and media analysts have suggested that President Trump’s low approval ratings and an election cycle that seems to favor Democrats may have contributed to the drop at Fox News. Nielsen data doesn’t explain why people watch or don’t watch certain programs or networks, obviously. But the change is a stark one.

Fox News did it to themselves. They lost ratings for not supporting MAGA.
And obviously for firing Maria.
It’s pure politics.

If favorable cable news rating translate to candidate success, we’d literally never have a Democrat win anything

That's one theory

But really you'd need to see multiple years of data to conclude that

I know a lot of MAGA abandoned Fox after 2020. If there was another sharp decline this year it might actually mean something.

ALL major news channels are beginning to see this because their viewers are dying off and not being replaced by young viewers. It’s all of them.

Not my boomer parents! I set them up YouTube and all of that on their TV about 5 months ago and they only get their news from the podcasters I follow and they love it

I haven’t watched Fox since they called Arizona for Biden in 2020.

That’s when their mask fell off.

Plus the fact that Paul Ryan is on the Fox Board…. Fck him and that entire network.

Don’t hold out on us FLTech… who are your top 5 podcasts?

I listen to Rogan in small snippets but might like to hear some new voices.

That’s gonna be news to someone who perceives himself to know anywhere from a pretty good bit, to everything, about everything. I say all of that literally.

Nope, just modern media living and dying by the same sword

Rupert said in print back somewhere he was NOT in the news business, but in the entertainment business. He traded the truth for sensationalism because higher ratings meant more $$$$ for FOX.

In the end, it has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with making $$$$.

I don't watch TV news but my wife switched from watching Fox News every day to Newsmax. She just said it's just more informative.

Their ratings took a big hit when they fired Maria Bartiromo

LOL on lack of approval for Trump being the reason to tune out Fox.

Fox just dumped their last actual journalist, Maria Bartiromo, for the feigned reason that they are "Shocked! Shocked!" to find out she corresponds directly with Donald Trump.

This from a network that kept Donna Brazile on the air after she was found tampering with a debate while working for candidate Clinton and a news organization sponsoring the debate.

I used to watch Gutfeld and Jesse Waters and their Saturday Night comedian for entertainment, but it is hard to laugh at their zingers against the Dems while they increasingly ignore how lame the majority of Republicans in congress are at supporting Trump.

Fox is anti Trump's agenda whenever they can get away with, but if their ratings dip it must be because... muh... Trump's fault.

It’s not that simple. They lost ratings because they appeal to virtually no one on the right outside of boomercons and gossiping women.

the problem with fox is they have been trying to convince americans that neocon and conservatism were one in the same. it started with charles krauthamer. the canadian born neocon who was a former speechwriter for walter mondale and was used by fox to define what they wanted conservatism to be. who can forget william krystol. last i heard he supported hillary clinton. zionism rules at fox and the american people are moving away from israel support and thus fox ratings are falling.
