Did the people on Jan 6th BURN DOWN THE CAPITOL? How fricking stupid are you dude. Did they kill anyone? NO. Ashli Babbit was the only one who was murdered. If you think Jan 6th is remotely comparable to 9/11 you 100% need your brain looked at
Once again, what I found most DISGRACEFUL about the Capitol breach is that someone didn’t drop trou and lay a massive bowl movement on the House Lectern.
That would be a fitting tribute to what Congress has contributed to this nation in my lifetime!

Yes but such feelings are perfectly understandable.
In a just world, every single member of Congress — regardless of party affiliation — would have been frog-marched out of the Capitol in leg-irons to face some form of justice for their crimes against the Constitution.
Even the supposed “good” members are complicit in these crimes against the American people by continuing to give legitimacy to that den of knavery.
A pox upon them all!

As long as you're consistent on that, then I don't care. The part that bothers me is if it had been BLM protesting a Trump win, it would have been welcomed as mostly peaceful and there would be marches for anyone killed.

Since when should it be illegal to enter the capital? Isn’t it the peoples house?

Will should have retired when David Brinkley did. Very few people actually know who he is.

No, George Will isn’t an idiot. He’s a loathesome Washington DC prostitute trying to hang onto his tattered membership to the elite’s useful idiots club.
January 6th was a minor fracas thats only real violent casualty was caused by a politically biased, trigger-happy security guard. Comparing it to 9/11 is nothing but a bad joke from a sad little man who is long past his relevance.

Sometimes the elected class in a democracy forgets who they work for and need to be reminded. They are lucky their only reminder to date has been a dude rubbing his balls on Pelosi's desk.

Imagine how pissed off you'd be if your local church was vandalized. That's the way George Will feels because the buildings and DC institutions are George Will's church and government is his god.

The problem with Will’s take is that despite The Ministry of Truth trying to make everyone believe it was something it wasn’t, it was only several months ago and many watched it unfold in real time. While there is clearly a portion of the country that is willing to accept that level of propaganda many are still not.
January 6th was much more like Mardi Gras than 9-11. It would be bad enough had we not had ACTUAL violent fiery riots for MONTHS last summer which were still fresh in everyone’s minds to compare it to...but we did. It’s easy to look back at the destruction, violence, deaths, intimidation, etc and see that this weak arse protest had none of those.

If he's referring to idea that they were both 'inside jobs' orchestrated by the corrupt deep state, then he may be on to something.

There are people in this country that go to sleep every night knowing the November election was stolen. Yet we have pseudo intellectuals like Will putting January 6th on par with 9/11. OK. Investigate January 6th with umpteen agencies, Congressional committees, and the FBI.
Tell us who killed Babbitt.
Tell us why the CP units ushered in protestors.
Tell us how many people were killed by protestors.

3000 innocents < 2 people directly involved

The government gods get threatened in any way and it is painted as the worst thing ever.
Good lord, people were leaping out windows and ending their life due to the horror on 9/11. Seriously, frick Will. He and anyone spewing this same garbage needs an arse kicking.
They are public servants. They should not be put on a pedestal. They serve a purpose, but are not to be worshiped. This country needs an enema. You should love your country, but you don’t have to love government.

George Will is an idiot? No, I don’t think so. And he’s right about Jan 6. That was a disgrace, and those entering the government buildings should have been met with force - deadly force if necessary - just as the BLM/Antifa rioters should have.
You lefties really like to play fast and loose with the rules when it comes to cops using lethal force to interact with conservatives. On one side it is cops should let the kids have their knife fight or let that rapist with a knife get whatever is in his car. On the other side, it is unarmed conservatives are angry about the obvious election fraud so blow their heads off. Crazy how easy it is for you guys to shift who is okay to kill based on political parties.

George F. Will is a character actor that played the role of an intellectual conservative on a Sunday morning political talk show. He is, in no manner, intellectual or conservative.

Playing devil's advocate...
Originally I think there was some way you could have defended this idea - as in, while not as significant overall or in the same hemisphere of tragedy, it was a "shock to the system" in that our government realized that they were not beyond the reach of an angry populace.
I'll even go further, and say you could make an argument that it showed how fragile our system is, where sketchy conspiracy theories could give rise to an event that could have, if the people involved were committed to it, been far more violent and revolutionary.
But, two issues there -
1) The exact same thing should have been said about the BLM terrorism. Conspiracies and untruths giving rise to riots and death on a much bigger scale than 1/6.
2) The more we learn about 1/6, the less "scary" and revolutionary it seems. And obviously it's now confirmed that the only death was a protestor. So it doesn't hold up as impactful now that the facts have come out.
