I will say it again. Until the Pope admits the failure of the Catholic church to protect kids from predatory priests AND pays out the molested kids, he has absolutely no moral high ground. Oh and maybe he should give back the art stolen from murdered Jews in WWII.

Notice that you didn't argue that promoting war is Christian.

You didn't argue that war is good.

You didn't argue that the Pope is wrong.

You immediately switched to a list of other people, all the boogeymen that maga tells you you dislike. (That probably don’t even exist anywhere around you in your daily life.)

That's usually what happens when someone can't address the actual point.

But you said he "promoted" child sex - that's an affirmative action.

When did Pope Leo "promote" child sex?

Your wild theory and speculation about a leaked letter does not amount to "promote child sex"..

Furthermore it was the moderate republicans (and a lot of catholics) that got Trump elected to begin with.

I love that there’s so much maga bickering with republican voters. It’ll be the end of the maga reich.

Couldn't you say this war actually part of the root of our current problem in the Middle East?

Pope Leo, scripture clearly says that only believing upon and trusting Jesus alone absent your works is what makes you a Christian and secures your salvation. Dependence on everything your church says may keep people dependent on you and your business you’ve got rolling along, but that’s not what makes one a Christian or saves them according to God’s word. You don’t get to reinvent what God’s standards are for sonship or salvation. You are a man and you have your agendas. They aren’t God’s.

Mass murder is a mortal sin. You trying to argue otherwise?
I don’t think anyone is questioning whether or not mass murder is sinful. The question is whether or not all wars are “mass murder”. It’s the contention of many Christians—including the Catholic Church historically—that just wars and the lawful killing that happens in them are lawful and not sinful.

Pope Leo, scripture clearly says that only believing upon and trusting Jesus alone absent your works is what makes you a Christian and secures your salvation.

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.
- Philippians 2:12-16

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. - James 2:14-17

Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. - Matthew 7:21

Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”

“Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”

“Which ones?” he inquired.

Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’”

“All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”

Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” - Matthew 19:16-21

We could keep going.

I don’t see trumps name mentioned anywhere in the article

And what he’s saying is generally true. With few exceptions, promotion of war is anti Christian.

And for that matter, I can’t think of a single Christian that is promoting war today

The pope should study theology learn some stuff and but out of USA governmental affairs.

Starting to think Leo may be low on the IQ scale….

The pope has a B.S. in Math from Villanova, is a former physics and math teacher, has a master's in Divinity, a doctorate in Canon law, spent a decade as a Canon law professor, led the Augustinian Order (a group famous for their theologians and philosophers), served as Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops, and wrote multiple articles published in scholarly journals.

Perhaps you should sit down and stay out of this discussion.

The Catholic Church is not “anti war” whatsoever.

Bishop Warren Boudreaux talked to our HS catechism class back in the 60s. He explained how we could end the Cold War with the Soviet Union. All we had to do was get rid of all our nukes. Invite the Russians to come over and verify that we disarmed. They would be moved and immediately get rid of all their nukes. There were no questions or comments. After class I discussed it with the guys. They all agreed it was better to stay silent than to say: 'You're a fricking moron.'

He’s using very particular words here to get out of what he’s actually trying to do: virtue-signal while admonishing Trump.
