The political landscape is asymmetrically “hot” right now. The only thing that will cool it is if anyone who disagrees with the far left is dead or in prison. I truly think we are past the point of reconciliation.

There was a uptick in vitriol when Trump first won. Trump's brashness and the shock of the party for losing. It ramped up after Covid. The far left ideology made there push for poltical take over, as they say never let a crisis go to waste to remake the world in your image. They managed to get a strong foothold in the democratic party. Mainstream Dem ideology holding on by a thin wire. Ramped up thier footholds in academia and pop culture like hollywood, and of course MSM. Academia got a log our youth begging for communism and pretending to be revolutionaries. Hollywood will barely produce anything unless its got some kind of idealogy propaganda in it. MSM either narrative pushing a running damage control.

I can remember naïvely imagining something similar in 2008 with Obama. I didn't like the man's politics, but as a consolidating figure, I reckoned his election formally shifted the US to a post-racial paradigm. I felt very good about that. I've not been more wrong about a subject in my life. These people are going to undermine America until they get shut down. By any means necessary.

I hope when the Dems get back in power (as they inevitably will) they receive the same treatment/pushback in spades.
The Left/Dems count on Republicans/Conservatives being "proper" and following the rules to roll over them at every step. Trump showed that the ONLY effective option is "fire with fire." Sadly, there are way too many GOPe still around.

No, as a former proggy, I can tell you that there is a large portion of the country that won't stop until their fellow countrymen are silenced, fleeced, jailed, and/or killed.
