This is key.

Plus, he’s strongly opposed to the woke shite.

I like the fact that he’s a major and not a general.

The guy who said every SoD must be a colonel or a general, well, I just think otherwise.

The biggest problem I foresee are not his tattoos or that he fricked a Fox News producer or that he made “extremist texts.”

He could face a problem if some chick says he assaulted her, whether bull shite or not. Chances could be high because apparently he has a high body count when it comes to chicks. Probably at least one of them feels used or lied to or scorned.

But the biggest problem I foresee could be dumb things he’s said on tv. He’s been on morning shows for years and years talking and talking, so I’m sure somewhere in all those miles of words he’s said some dumb things.

Oh yeah, I remember that. That was a pretty big fricking deal and it didn’t get covered enough.

The MeToo movement is dead. The feminist overplayed their hand.

Bronze Star recipient

birds eye view IMO is Wikipedia is trying to frick with his military biography on their site

I was a little concerned about this pick until I let it generally sink in. Trump wants to try something different, and hell yes, that's okay. Better than some lapdog of the military industrial complex.

Played basketball at Princeton and graduated there before joining Bear Stearns and the army national guard.

Better than Dick Cheney's punk chickenhawk arse who dodged the draft five times and became Sec Def

Thank god Trump wised up and picked a guy with a ton of experience in critical ventures

you mean he wasn't in Congress where he learned to bend over for political donations from Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Ratheon, General Dynamics... ?

This guy is unqualified to be SecDef. There is no major anywhere with enough experience to do this job. A guy that can’t keep his pants zipped when he is away from home is a security risk.

Go look at backgrounds of the last 20 SoDs. Most were NOT high ranking officers. Not sure where this criteria is coming from.

I think this is just as much about fixing recruiting and culture as it is securing peace and military strategy.

Trump and state will handle that.

Yep, and the Joint Chiefs will handle giving him their analysis of real time war strategy.

Quite better than Dick Cheney's "war experience" from playing intramural tennis or who knows what

I guess Murkowski has already started running her bitch mouth that she doesn't like the pick.

Judging from the folks with ruffled feathers over the pick makes me like it this much more.

Trump is legitimately trying to clean up some bullshite. Pete seems eager to do so.

All these people mad he didn't pick some entrenched general are missing the entire point of Trump's mandate and goal for this administration

The whole “he’s gotta be a general” thing is odd.

Yea the ones crying about this pick are the same ones that didn’t want trump as the nominee, then got on board but then led the doom of my god the PR joke will sink us, then moved to they won’t let trump win, now they cry about every single pick. It’s like a loop with these fricking concern cucks.

I think that is a good qualifier - but it speaks to the condition of the officer corps after decades of pampering and pushing non-military attributes --

I am all with Hegsseth on his dedication - but the actual operations at that level are totally unknown to me and may require some applicable experience to even have a qualified opinion about.

But as for core values - this choice is primo.

So Trump wants his own lapdog? That's what you imply and what thins pick implies.

Someone should ask Hegseth what he plans to do about Genesis which most recruiters are saying is a bigger problem by a factor of 10 than anything that DEI may or may not be causing

The people like Cassidy and Warren with their hair on fire over this makes me feel good about Hegseth.

It will be interesting to see how Lindsey Graham comments if he does at all.

Kind of crazy that the us government sends Christians to war then call them extremists and domestic terrorists when they come back.
