Whe it’s all said and done, some of you just don’t want them damned foreigners coming to America. It’s not much more complicated than that. The argument has been remarkably consistent over decades…
if you don't like it, go back with the foreigners. the shaming is over with. I don't think that horror has set in yet for you communists.

The only thing he gets wrong is that I question JD Vance's intentions considering who he married
I ask (and cannot possibly know) how much of this is actually on JD vs. how much of this is due to handcuffs put in place by Trump.
There's clearly a rift formed between JDV and Trump. I wouldn't have seen that coming in 2024, but it's definitely there. Is JD actually a supporter of H1B expansion and alleviation, or is he just afraid to push too hard and end up being another victim of one of Trump's social media meltdowns? I'd sure like to know what's going on behind the scenes so I could know who I would support for 2028. I'm thinking I'm "Team Desantis" all the way since the dysfunction between the current administration won't seem to resolve.

I wouldn't have been here without the grandparents. And I am firmly against illegal immigration and abuse of the H1B system.
Your proof that she is upper caste does not mean she practices the caste system. That is false logic.

Look up how intertwined Hinduism and caste are and get back to me. Even in Bali which is primarily Hindu they have a caste system in place.
You can't really be a practicing Hindu like Usha Vance and not believe in the caste system.

Stout, that is jackassery. Every single Hindu isn’t the same, any more than every Christian is the same. I was raised a Catholic, and outside of general morality, I don’t believe a word of it, nor do I practice it. But I’m sure there is a JeetStout in India who would say about me, “Look up Catholicism and get back to me.”
ETA: Here is a snippet from ChatGPT that shows how foolish it is to paint with such a broad brush:
quote:
Some traditional Hindu schools treated hereditary caste distinctions and caste-specific duties as part of dharma, the moral and religious order.
Other Hindu traditions challenged caste hierarchy.
For example:
The medieval Bhakti movements frequently emphasized devotion to God over inherited social status.
The poet-saint Ravidas, traditionally associated with a leatherworking community, rejected caste-based spiritual inferiority.
Basava, a 12th-century religious reformer, challenged hereditary social distinctions.
Modern reformers, including Swami Vivekananda, criticized aspects of hereditary caste privilege.

See above and get back to me. She is a first-generation who wouldn't be here without immigrant parents, so I would bet everything I own she supports massive immigration.
So, you are basing your opinion of Usha not on anything she has said or done, but on the country her parents moved from, a country Usha never lived in.
I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just saying that creating a personality for her based solely on her parents being immigrants 40 years ago and stereotypes, nothing from Usha herself, is not really a strong argument.

i'm speaking to people with simplistic thoughts, so I try not to over- complicate things.
The fact is that a lot of people here have a problem with any immigration, legal or illegal...

Because in a country with anywhere from 20 to 40 million Illegal Immigrants why would you need any immigration at that point? Make it make sense.

First, because JD is married to an Eastern Indian he is for h1b visas????
Thats like saying he is also for Hitler cause they are both white males...what a fuking ridiculous take.
Second, Do away with all Visas and immigration?
Yeah wish we would have left Wernher Van Braun and Elon Musk at home, we would have a heck of a space program. Not to mention Carnegie, Rockefellers, many who built the computer industry and the internet boom.
Third, he is curtailing the abuse, but its not the Eastern Indians, its the tech companies and the hiring companies that are abusing the system.
Straighten up and fly right people, you sound like a bunch of Bull Conners.

She doesnt believe in the caste system.
Southerners lynched blacks, if you are from the south do you believe in it???
You obviously know nothing about the Hindu religion. Its very similar in many ways to Christianity. They worship many gods the same way Christians worship saints, Mary and Jesus so the worshipping one God theory kind of goes out the window. If you talk to Hindus you will find they too believe in the one supreme God, our God.
