Palmer Luckey with more common sense immigration talk

Now that Elon is a trillionaire, Palmer is easily the best billionaire
The only thing he gets wrong is that I question JD Vance's intentions considering who he married. IMO, JD and his team could do more, but so far it seems like they do just enough to make it look like they are really pushing back. If JD were serious, he would be pushing for a moratorium on all H1B, F1s, etc but he's not, so we will continue to see marginal changes at a snail's pace so they can pretend to really be trying and fighting for Americans, and people will remain pacified because they will believe JD. Just have to keep it up for 2 more years.

Immigration policy must be driven by the present, not the past, and business leaders are too terrified of the left AND the right to acknowledge this.
Recent H1B discourse revolves around a longstanding immigration sleight-of-hand. H1B proponents point to exceptional people who came here decades ago as if they represent the current state of the program in the same way that advocates for low-skill/illegal immigration point to very favorable immigrant crime/welfare/education/etc statistics that do, in truth, have them beating native-born Americans on many fronts.
It is all a sham. The world that created those statistics, people, and businesses no longer exists. Brilliant but desperate Vietnamese fathers who fled communism have nothing in common with young men from Honduras, and the crime rates/economic acccomplishments/integration of the former should not be used to justify mass migration of the latter.
Nor should the accomplishments of people who managed to get an H1B visa in the 90s (when the program was capped to just 65,000 visas) be used to justify staffing agencies and tech companies using the program to replace American jobs for less money. The obvious abuse going on is politically suicidal and something that even the most ardent supporters of the visa should want to crack down on, no immigration program can possibly survive the obvious and widely known reality of what is going on. I am a longtime outspoken advocate for stealing the best people from other countries to make our own better, runaway abuse of existing programs robs the government of the worker trust required to do so.
Lots of people in the tech space know this. Even the dumb people are smart enough to see it. Nobody actually believes these are all incredible people with unique talents performing jobs no American can. Everyone knows the guy in Cubicle Bay 7 doing mediocre but functional web design for half the salary of his American peers is no savant and doesn't meet the statutory requirements for his H-1B visa.
Unfortunately, most people with power or profile are terrified that any public statement or acknowledgement will get them attacked by the right (You guys have been screwing over American workers for years with visa abuse, you damn hypocrite!) or the left (You are racist, sexist, misogynist, and sucking up to this fascist administration!). Or, more likely, both. I know too many tech execs in particular who feel trapped, like the only winning move is to stay silent.
JD is blowing the whole thing wide open by putting facts and stats front and center that nobody wants to engage with. Critics will talk about anything and everything else but these damning facts and this obvious truth, that H1B visas serve neither their original purpose, legal purpose, invented purpose, or the American people.

Yeah, JD’s marriage to an Indian and his friendship with Vivek makes me hesitant to believe he’s serious about completing reforming the H1B industry.
I hope he does though.

Dude, he probably married the woman who was doing it for him. I doubt his marriage choice had anything to do with politics.

That's not at all what I said.
You act as if she can't influence him or his decisions in any way.
You act like his half Indian kids would have zero influence
Usha Vance is still practicing Hinduism. Do you really want a first lady who participates in a Caste system and Hinduism?
Do you think we should blindly follow a man who can't get his own wife to assimilate to American culture, which was founded on all people being equal and Christianity?

She doesn’t practice a caste system, for Christ’s sake. And for all we know Usha might be more against massive immigration than you are.

Does anyone miss noblesse oblige where rich people built opera houses and hospitals instead of mass surveillance technology
This is absolutely not true unless you compare them to a certain group of native borns only. Also every time an illegal commits a crime they list them under “white”

That’d be great but I think Congress would have to do that. I’m really not sure what more the president can do here.

She is 100% upper caste

See above and get back to me. She is a first-generation who wouldn't be here without immigrant parents, so I would bet everything I own she supports massive immigration.

Correct
We have not heard yet about JD working with our majority to try to pass any reform bills, which is my point
They will do very little that can easily be reveresed later. They will not actually work to pass legslation that is much harder to reverse
They are simply pacifying the public

Whe it’s all said and done, some of you just don’t want them damned foreigners coming to America. It’s not much more complicated than that. The argument has been remarkably consistent over decades…

That’s fair. It’d be a waste of time I’m sure, but that’s a fair criticism.
Our miserable majority can’t get out of it’s own way.
We’d also have to seek Judge Boasberg’s approval too.

If Gaven were a Republican, he could rule the party for decades, considering how many young white males under 30 are tired of losing to foreigners and looking for a leader with a family just like that.
I think people underestimate how many white dudes 30 and under (probably closer to 25 and under) are pissed off and feel hopeless because they lose to foreigners when applying to college, jobs, etc.

Of course a simpleton like you would try to shrink it down to such a simplistic take.

It's now racist to oppose bringing in cheap labor to undercut American wages .

One thing that’s concerning about jd is that every picture of him and his family on google is standing in front of some sort of hindu building

And here is the conundrum which ultimately trap leftists who advocate for more immigration. How do you justify the theft of a country’s supposed “best and brightest” for the supposed benefit of our own? How is this not theft of resources which will inevitably doom a developing nation?
