Yes, I'm a little more encouraged than I was last night, since the statements of both Netanyahu and White House sources quoted in articles indicate that physically removing the nuclear dust remains the red line. The key point for me is that this be set forth in the final initial memorandum of understanding and not this vague "Iran agrees to discuss the possibility of removing the dust in exchange for the blockade being lifted" language that was reported on last night.

I suspect that this vague language actually was included in the original memorandum of understanding but that the heat Trump has gotten based on the initial reports has stiffened his spine and now he's going to demand a commitment to remove the dust be set forth in the initial MOU before a single ship is allowed to pass through the blockade.

If we demand that then we should either end up with an acceptable deal, or, more likely, a resumption of the war when Iran refuses.

It’s not a deal. It’s a memorandum of Understanding.

It’s a word salad that Iran will exploit to drag this out indefinitely.

Guess if I watched the msm news with their bias I’d be more inclined to be upset right now

Haven’t had cable in close to 15 years and don’t watch the msm?

It is a deal to start talking about maybe making a deal.

Iran is fantastic at stalling. Incredible how every administration goes for it too.

It does seem to indicate that Trump needs this deal more than Iran does and that alone should be concerning.

Even if one faction of the Islamic Republic turns over "all" of the enriched uranium, if the Islamic Republic remains intact, they will just make more.

The first time they did it had a big learning curve. The next time they won't need much of a learning curve and will be much quicker.

Looks like the Pakistani mediators are doing a double take.

Showing Trump one proposal and the Iranians another.

In a show of unity towards peace with Iran, we should join them in droning/bombing the frick out of Pakistan.

Maybe the Pakistanis are the problem. They're clearly "Parent Trapping" this deal.

those two statements really sound like negotiating with two separate parties. maybe the beginnings of a two party state in Iran. revolution possibly being set up.

The amount that Tehran has demanded has changed again. This time it appears to be $12 Billion. Who knows that the amount will be in another couple of hours.

Iranian negotiators are demanding the immediate release of $12 billion in frozen assets held in Qatar as a precondition for advancing talks with the United States, an informed source with direct knowledge of the negotiations told Iran International.

According to the source, the release of these specific funds in Qatar is a strict precondition for the initial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) stage.

Tehran has insisted that actual, guaranteed access to this $12 billion must be granted during this first phase before any preliminary diplomatic understanding can move forward, the source said.

The source emphasized that this $12 billion represents only the immediate tranche required to initiate the diplomatic roadmap, and is not the only capital Iran is claiming.

Tehran's broader negotiating position is that all of its frozen assets globally must be unfrozen and fully released as part of any eventual comprehensive agreement, according to the source.

I can tell you from personal experience that a MOU with the Iranians is very fluid. They will equivocate to the point of distraction

A lawyer from the New York Baker McKenzie office and I sat with those dudes for weeks in the Hague. Until you have a final signed, detailed document, it doesn't mean much...

I spoke last night with President @realDonaldTrump about the memorandum of understanding to reopen the Straits of Hormuz and the upcoming negotiations toward a final agreement on Iran’s nuclear program. I expressed my deep appreciation to President Trump for his unwavering commitment to Israel’s security, including during Operation Roaring Lion and Epic Fury, when American and Israeli forces fought shoulder to shoulder against the Iranian threat. President Trump and I agreed that any final agreement with Iran must eliminate the nuclear danger. That means dismantling Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites and removing its enriched nuclear material from its territory. President Trump also reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself against threats on every front, including Lebanon. The partnership between us and our two countries has been proven on the battlefield and has never been stronger. My policy, like President Trump’s, remains unchanged: Iran will not have nuclear weapons.
