This would imply Iran “wasn’t too interested” in obtaining nukes before.

This is the stance of just about every nation, good or bad. If they could have obtained them, they would have done so by now. They have been sanctioned to some degree for ~20 years for not declaring certain nuclear material back in the early 2000’s. They have tried to develop the capacity/capability but do not appear to be very good at that. U.S. intelligence has maintained since 2003 that there is no proof that they have a viable weapons program.

Remember that hen we hacked their centrifuges and caused them to burn up? Stuxnet or something. That was pretty damn sneaky of us. We even hacked the monitors/sensors so they didn’t know it was happening.

Are these the same intelligence groups that tried to remove an elected president and have been lying to the public for 80 years? The ones known for overthrowing governments and concealing information from oversight?

We know they are working on the bomb. The evidence is overwhelming. So, what exactly do you mean by viable? Is a viable program one that can currently produce a nuclear weapon?

If so, why should we wait around for a country who has attacked us, regularly says we must be destroyed, and is behind much of the terrorist groups in the ME to have the full capability of producing a nuke before doing something about it?

Do you not think that is the dumbest possible approach if you care about your own people? Do you think handling a problem after it has gotten out of control is better than when it is more manageable?

You said a whole bunch of things that I don’t disagree with, so I’ll just give my thoughts on these along with the IC comment because I only made mention of one specific topic.

If we know enough to bomb them, then we have gathered intelligence, from our intelligence agencies, yes? Or are they lying? The IAEA reported they had 460 kg of enriched uranium gas, but many didn’t think they should be trusted during the JCPOA, so should they be believed? Israel based their claims last year off of the IAEA report, so…Iranian negotiators admitted to this, but should they be believed?

This was before their facilities were obliterated last year. Isfahan, Fordow and Natanz had reportedly (by U.S. and Israeli intelligence, if you believe them, that is) been rendered inoperable and offline due to the destruction caused by bombing. Redundant bombing took place early in the present war as well as on civilian nuclear facilities.

Is our intelligence isn’t to be believed since 2003, is it believable from last year and this year? Is Israeli intelligence about their destruction believable? If any of it is believable, they do NOT have a viable program, at least now they don’t. If they have a new secret nuclear program up and running and is now viable, then I suppose we should be bombing that. If we know that though, I suppose some intelligence agency found it. Can they be believed?

I don’t know personally if they have a viable program because it’s hard to know who’s lying and who’s telling the truth. A side note, if Israel and the U.S. have done things to either destroy or hinder their program in the past, we only know this because this intel was told to us.
