wow, another lefty blaming senior citizens for the problems facing the country. the left (and way too many on the right) just love blaming Boomers for all of their problems and seem completely oblivious to the fact that eventually THEY will be the ones being targeted for blame. once the Boomers have all died off, mark my words, the Gen X'ers will be on the clock for taking the blame for everything. it's just more of the same oppressor / oppressed mantra.

It is dumb for two people to grow old in a big arse house they don’t need.
Of course if Boomers do sell they’ll try to get 500% of what they paid for it.
Then they’ll bitch and moan about how the country is falling apart.
And then a Communist boot will be on all our faces because we wouldn’t voluntarily share the wealth.

yeah, nothing more communist than making a bunch of money on an investment to pass down to your children in their inheritance.

I'm trying to figure out what is dumber... two folks growing old in a house that may be too large for their current needs... or someone giving enough of a care to think that someone else's house is too big for them.

I think Boomer's are less of the issue....I think the bigger issue, at least in many areas is the short term rental market as well as other corporate investment. More and more cities are getting rid of the short term rental issue (see linked video concerning Santa Ana from the last few days), but corporate overlords are going to continue to be a problem.
