this news cuts hard for all generations of Gamecocks - 18 took us on one helluva wild 4 year ride in our history -
after USC - he won 5 SC state titles as a high school football head coach - 2 runners up -
he was Carolina Football's first "Steve" -
2006 SC Sports Hall of Fame as well as 2010 Butler County PA Hall of Fame
rest high on that mountain #18 - and thank you for all the fun & wild times - on and off the gridiron - Forever to Thee -
1992 FR season - #16 Tennessee 23 Carolina 24 - Halloween - Johnny Majors last game -
1993 SO season - Carolina 23 #14 Georgia 21 - Taneyhill as cool as the other side of the pillow at the goal line with the clock running out -

This guy really seem too trashy for a place like Vanderbilt.
I suppose the Downtown Athletic Club should be *relieved* (pun intended) Pavia didn't piss on the stage after he didn't win their award -

Record-breaking moments throughout the season
Several weeks delivered historic numbers for ESPN. Kickoff weekend posted the most-viewed figures on record for ESPN networks, climbing 31 percent year-over-year. Rivalry Week achieved its highest audience since 2012, with ABC delivering its most-watched Rivalry Week since that same year at 7.9 million viewers.
Week 12 marked only the third time since 1996 that a single network aired two games exceeding 10 million viewers on the same day. ABC delivered nine games with more than 10 million viewers throughout the season, the most ever for any network in a single season.
Viewers watched more college football minutes on ABC ....
>>>>>> than all other broadcast networks combined, <<<<<<
....giving ESPN networks 61 percent of live game minutes viewed across nationally rated linear networks.
meanwhile it apparently took college football's program with the most-ever losses all time - the Indiana football brand - to push the Big Tin to new heights its never achieved before on CG weekend in a one game setting -

seems the training wheels got put back on Beamer's bike for the first time since Lembo left -
compared to the list of those who've called plays since HBC stopped - Briles is easily the most qualified outside of maybe Mike Bobo in 2020 - but I doubt Briles would have forced the two bad knee statue named Colin Hill on USC they was Bobo demanded -

we got 3 more wins on the schedule this year against these powerhouses
0-7 The Citadel
0-10 SC State
0-7 Albany
Paris 2-16 in league play last year and on a collision course with 0-18 this season -
re: Was Lynyrd the one that started the opting out tradition?

Clowney's had a remarkable NFL career after microfracture surgery in his rookie season that created a lot of doubt if he'd ever play again - let alone with the same destructive power -
as for the OP - it was McCaffrey first then Fournette not long after that opted out - LF got all the heat mostly because he didn't play on the West coast -

It was Jadeveon Clowney that started it in 2012 or 2013
yet here he is in the 2014 Cap 1 Bowl making a TFL against Wisconsin - to finish his JR season - his final game as a Gamecock before being drafted #1 overall -

imagine Nick Saban announcing he was taking the Alabama job the day after beating Georgia the SECCG on 12/6/03 but wanting to continue to coach LSU on 1/4/04 in the BCS title game against Oklahoma -
how would LSU fans have reacted to that?

Alabama is LSU's rival the way A&M would be Oklahoma's rival if Switzer took the Aggies job after he left the Cowboys instead of returning to OU to coach the Sooners -
Tennessee is far and away a bigger rival to Alahama than LSU -

BYU didn't beat current #3 Georgia in Athens on Sept 27 like Alabama did - start there -
actually have wanted the orangenecks in the SEC since the 2012 expansion -
the Bobby Bowden path to 11 & 12 wins the ACC provided afforded Sweenie the only avenue that program could win the games in the regular and post-season it did until 2020 -
a lot USC fans really only wanted Climp to suffer from a financial aspect - which the Newspring private equity fund circumvented anyways -
