Weird. He describes 500 rounds of ammunition but no firearm.

quote:

A man in North Carolina has been arrested after he showed up to a small-town church full of worshippers with TWO FLAMETHROWERS, crossbows, 500 rounds of ammo... ...and a notebook listing the addresses of churches and schools A church member saw him, sitting in his truck in FULL BODY ARMOR and camouflage and called 911. An OFF-DUTY police officer, working security at that church, walked straight up to that truck and confronted him. He told officers he was "law enforcement" there to enforce a smoking violation... but he was NOT law enforcement. Police say what he actually had in that truck was an arsenal: two flamethrowers, two crossbows, a launcher made to look like a handgun, over 500 rounds of ammunition, knives, duct tape, and police scanners. They disarmed him without a shot fired. Every single church needs to have SERIOUS SECURITY, this could have been a complete massacre. I haven't seen this story reported in any mainstream media, but it looks like this man was about to massacre hundreds of Christians in a church in North Carolina.

I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often to be honest. All you hear is how white Christians are the problem and most of those white Christians blame their fellow Christians in the Catholic Church for everything.

Almost like God may have something to do with it or something

Just went to the Sheriff' Dept's shooting range last Saturday for my qualification training. I am part of the security detail at our church and I conceal carry every Sunday. We plan and train for various scenarios.

Crazy that churches require security.

What a world...

We had a security incident at our church a few weeks ago. It’s good for every church to have policies in place and plans to address people who are up to no good.

You are a good person doing that for your fellow parishioners.

For years we had a detail at every church in the parish until enough people that were church members were trained up well enough to cover their own people. Running scenarios shooting at least once a week and also firing blank rounds inside the different buildings so you actually know what those sounds do inside your head.

Keep it up!

In my little hometown in NE. Al. the FBC, Methodist and Church of Christ all have security details on duty during services. Had Don Lemon tried that stunt at one of these churches the outcome woud have been way different than in Minneapolis .
Just a damn shame it's come to this.

This seems like an unwieldy and impractical arsenal. There is probably 500 rounds of 9mm and .45 dispersed around my church and the only one you see is the security guards sidearm.

Good thing we have common sense flame thrower laws.

I mean, that kinda checks out.

Seriously though, thankfully there were some alert people around for that church and stopped it before it became a tragedy.

Did he have a gun for those 500 rounds? Black duct tape? I'm assuming Gorilla tape.

Anyone coming into a place of worship armed while pointing weapons and threatening people is in commission of multiple felonies and where I live would be subject to self defense law:
quote:

Florida’s Stand Your Ground provisions, generally apply to someone being threatened in a place of worship.

§776.012:
• You are justified in using or threatening non-deadly force when you reasonably believe it is necessary to defend yourself or another against another’s imminent unlawful force. No duty to retreat.

Don Lemon in that case was a co-conspirator to multiple felonies because he had prior knowledge of what was going to happen and participated anyway.

You don’t get to rob a bank as a reporter and claim immunity afterwards.

Brandishing a firearm
Kidnapping
Assault
Florida Statute 871.01 – Disturbing Schools and Religious and Other Assemblies

Any and all of the parties involved would’ve been subject to the use of lethal force and any of his coconspirators would’ve been the ones facing charges assuming they were still breathing.

This is sad that this has to happen to protect a church.
