Was burning a small brush pile in January. I always pick low wind days but as soon as I lit, the wind came up. Grass started to burn which is normal and started managing the perimeter like always but in about thirty seconds, I was suddenly behind. I fought like hell but couldn't reign in so I finally called the FD. They came out with a field truck and had it out in about five minutes (3-4 acres). The humliating part was they fireman was a girl.
Still haven't lived that down.
Didn't get a bill.
