I knew a Marine that bounced around an imaginary basketball everywhere and would flip out if you “took” it. He was obviously FOS and just wanted to leave, but it eventually worked and he “passed” the basketball to another guy when they escorted him off

There are a lot of sailors that suffer with sea sickness...they do give out seasickness injections for those who have it but that causes other problems...and doesn't always work very well. Being gone that long and being sick that long could make someone wish they could end it.

All fair points... but if someone has that much of a problem that dramamine, or the newer tablet that doesn't cause drowsiness, a wristband to stop seasickness, doesn't cure... and they are in medical a lot...
One would think a medical transfer and discharge due to unknown medical concern: would happen long before the thoughts of suicide.

Just spoke with a former medic on carriers and he said the navy would not allow them to transfer and tell them to just suck it up. He also said that the carriers are so big that there's very little movement especially in the gulf so that was probably not the problem.

I was stationed at Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota many moons ago. The word was that if you got frostbite twice you would be charged with destruction of gov't. property because you were issued enough cold wether protection that you should never get frostbit. The cold weather gear we were issued was excellent. Anyone on here ever put on a pair of bunny boots?

Worked too good at times, I had to take them off and let my feet dry off. Had them In Wisconsin and Norway (cold weather training).

The Med can be a little choppy sometimes. We did some cruising in the North Sea once that was pretty rough. The Atlantic is the Atlantic, drive around the hurricanes.

I think it’s safe to say that if a few people on that ship had been serving under George Patton that they would have got slapped in the head and sent to the front. I doubt Patton could make it 5 minutes commanding a unit in today’s military.

Much too big of a deal is being made about their extension due to conflict in Iran. It is doubtful any of the promulgated UK and USA MSM whining reports changed ships schedules.
They were indeed left w/o unreps and Bahrain getting bombed by Iran made it worse. Iran is now putting out propaganda that the USNavy and USA are losers with pussies that need laid in Thailand because of complaints.
Our media and the UK are not on the USAs side. They will be resupplying in Thailand. The media bring attention to their exact docking and where AS HEADLINE NEWS should piss everyone reading this off.

A new multimission dry dock is also under development/construction there as part of broader shipyard upgrades.
