Alabama turned the ball over 3 times on its own end of the field. You can’t beat a FCS team doing that. It reminded me of the Ole Miss game a few years back where Bama turned the ball over 5 times in one game.
When you mention a player showboating in the tunnel I instantly think of the Miami vs Texas Cotton Bowl I think it was in the 80’s. I was watching that game and can remember the Miami player running up in the tunnel and standing there playing acting like he was shooting his pistols lol. That whole game was nothing but showboating. Miami got flagged all day for unsportsmanlike and other penalties and still destroyed Texas that day.
The Ole Ball Coach could have won more than SEC titles had he learned to run the football more. He just threw it way too much.
Well that right there shows you that the people running 247 doesn’t know their arse from a hole in the ground. I have watched Bama play every game this season. The Alabama offensive line ain’t worth a shite. Swiss cheese offers more resistance than the offensive line does at Bama. I’m not trying to put anyone down but most of the offensive linemen at Bama probably wouldn’t be starting for many SEC teams. The Center and LT are the best we have and they have struggled at times. The offensive line is probably gonna cost this years team a legit shot at winning a title.
Mike Leach might be a better example. I think he was starting to figure out that you need to run the football in the SEC to win consistently.
Steve Spurrier had to learn this very same lesson. He was all about the fun and gun and hated to run the football early in his Florida days. He finally figured it out though.

Just don’t take anyone that plays for the Browns. I don’t know if they have anyone that can complete a pass lol.

Damn you need to make a trade lol.
It’s not like Kiffin is sitting over in Oxford trying to figure out how he can plug holes in his roster. Ole Miss has set him up with plenty of money in NIL. Hell someone was calling him king of the transfer portal not long ago. He has had plenty of talent to win a title last season and this season for sure. If he isn’t getting it done in big moments then it’s because Lane made boneheaded coaching decisions more than he can’t accumulate enough talent at Ole Miss to win a title.

Deboer isn’t a bad coach. He can win some big games. He just can’t get his teams to play with intensity and focus for 60 mins a game. He doesn’t have very physical offensive lines either. That is a must in the SEC. They also fall in love with the pass way to much. If Deboer will ever figure out that you must be physical on offense and run the football in the SEC to win consistently in this league then he will go on a tear. I just don’t know if he will ever learn that lesson though.
When you compare all 3 schools it’s pretty even until you throw in the money. UF and LSU are not broke. They have plenty of money to be competitive. It’s just Texas just has more money. They all have facilities and things like that. They all reside in talent rich areas of the country. They all can recruit nationally. They all have a championship in the past 20 years or so. They all have fan support. All 3 schools listed are really close in everything until you throw in the money into the equation. It’s like I said earlier I’m not saying that UF or LSU are broke. It’s just a well known fact that Texas has access to a shite ton of money that the rest of the conference does not have unless you are talking about A&M.
Deboer has a lot in common with Lane Kiffin. He has a few games a year where he can’t get out of his own way. Both Deboer and Lane will drop a couple a year they should have won. They will look terrible in those games. The difference between him and Lane is Deboer will actually get some big wins along the way.
Texas. They want to win and money is no object to them.
I wouldn’t be in a big hurry to go play for the Jets, Browns, Raiders, Bengals, Jags, Panthers, etc, etc, etc. I would drag out my college career as long as possible and hope that some great team had a lot of injuries and earned a high draft pick.

Hell look at what playing for the Bengals has done to Joe Burrow. They have turned him into Tua. The guy can’t stay off the IR list every season because they won’t spend money on a competent offensive line to protect him.
I don’t know if the Raiders could win 42 games if you gave them 42 years to win 42 games lol.
I’m not looking at it from the money angle. Every great NFL player has money. I’m talking about it from the angle of being a competitor. He went from a team that almost never lost to a team that can’t win. Meanwhile all his Georgia teammates are playing in Philly for Super Bowls.

Yeah we are screwed. I can’t see Auburn practicing to much this week for some high school team. So they had last week and most of this week on top of game week to dream up stuff to throw at Bama. Wonderful!!
The media had Saban going from Bama to the NFL or some other big college job every offseason. Never did it occur to them that the man might have been happy right where he was.
Maybe NORAD can create a Lane tracker like they do for Santa every Christmas Eve lol.
He may not be hurting financially but it’s got to really hurt mentally going from almost never losing to almost never winning.

I don’t know if it’s as big of a deal for a TE as it is a QB. Going to some of poor run organizations can crush some of these players careers. Look what going to the Jets did to Sam Darnold. Baker Mayfield is not an elite QB by no stretch but going to the Browns set him back. Trevor Lawrence was supposed to be all world but look what the Jags has done to him. Going to some of these awful teams can really kill a players career if the player is not careful.
That’s why they should work with Congress to get laws passed so they have force of law protecting them from all these idiots running these collectives and any other people that does not have the best interest of the game in mind.
