It does no school any good to make the playoff if that school is so beat up when they get there that they can’t be effective and play as close to that schools best as possible. See Alabama 2025. Bama made the playoff Yea!! They were so banged up with injuries though that they were not even close to being the same team that they were earlier in the year. That team didn’t really have a good enough offensive line to really legitimately compete but so many key players were banged up they didn’t even have a punchers chance.

I get it I really do. Nobody wants to watch cupcake games. But the SEC can’t go through 9 wars a season with a high profile OOC opponent to boot and then expect to be healthy enough to be serious contenders in the playoff. All this while the other power leagues play in way softer conferences that allows them to play in games that they can get big leads in and then pull the starters for a few qtr a year. Even playing against Vandy or Arkansas will be a challenging physical ballgame. The SEC needs to manufacture some easier games to give SEC teams a better shot come playoff time.

Most if not all of the teams you just listed will probably drop at least one more game. Some could even drop 2.

Doesn’t matter. I will take Texas because of the home field but that’s probably the only reason. Well it’s hard for me to trust PG as well. I wouldn’t bet this game though if Willie T gave me all the money he has to bet it with.

You just made my point. Everyone has players now. Used to be an SEC team could count on a Vandy and maybe one or two other SEC teams to be not very good. A top SEC team knew they still had to go take care of business but they only had to play a C or a D level game and still get out with an ugly win. Today it’s 100% all the time or you lose because there is no off weeks. Plus it’s not just about the quality of the team you are playing in the SEC you have to go into the harshest environments in all of college football and play. Playing in Baton Rouge, Auburn, Knoxville, Starkville, Gainesville, Austin, Norman, Tuscaloosa, Athens, and several others is a way different experience than a team like Ohio State pllaying at Rutgers, Purdue, Northwestern, Maryland, Minnesota, etc. it’s a different game for SEC teams than the Big 10, ACC, or Big 12. All conferences are not created equal.

As far as injuries go they matter more than ever now. Just look at the injuries that Bama, Georgia, and LSU have right now. There is probably more key players in the training facility for them right now than on the practice field. That level of loss can’t be sustained for anyone. I don’t care how much money the school has. If teams are lucky they can pay for enough quality depth to go 2 deep at every position. After that teams are playing guys that are probably not ready to play significant snaps. Even if a team can hold on and manage enough wins to make the playoff then how effective will that team be in the playoff playing the best of the best. Thats exactly what happened to Bama last season. They made the playoff yah. Once they got there though they couldn’t be effective because of injuries and players having to play so beat up they really couldn’t preform.

Everyone wants to watch good games every week. I get it. In the end though I want to watch the best teams go against each other as close to 100% as possible for all the marbles. When Indiana is playing such a pillow soft schedule they can pull the starters before halftime most of the year and stay pretty healthy while the SEC teams are beating the hell out of each other and fighting and struggling for every win then I can’t say with any certainty that we will see SEC teams win many titles in coming years. I’m all for the SEC as a league challenging themselves. But they should start asking the other power 3 conferences to get better before the SEC jumps and go all in on making things harder. Otherwise the SEC is just handing the national title every year to the other power conferences.

I know everyone hates the cupcake games and I don’t like the myself but they do serve a big purpose. They act as a mini bye week. SEC teams need a second bye week during the season. The league is just to demanding physically and mentally. A couple of well placed cupcake games on the schedule along with the normal bye week would help SEC teams stay healthier during the season now that the SEC has moved to 9 games and will now play at least one top out of conference team.

lol. I wasn’t there for the Manning game but I was for the game 1,2,3 years earlier when they Bama and Tennessee tied. That may be the only ballgame I have ever attended in person that ended in a tie. 17-17 final score. Bama scored with about 20 something seconds left in the game and then got a 2pt conversion.

It just seems like the Coast Guard would want places on the coast. I had to do a double take when I first saw the sign they had up.

It’s a shame BSC closed but like you said it’s good to see the campus is not just sitting there not in use.

I can’t imagine anything major ever being held there again. Sooner or later the site will probably be flattened. It’s a sad ending for The Football Capital of the South. I this next year it will be 100 yrs old. Too bad they can’t do something like hold one last Iron Bowl there in honor of its 100th Anniversary.

I guess you could have a different experience at every hospital depending on which floor you are on. Everyone my mom had while she was there was great. Took a lot of worry off our family knowing she had good staff there with her.

I hadn’t been in that area of B’ham for a long time. It looks pretty bad so I’m shocked tolls is all you had missing. I would expect you to tell me you had been mugged lol.

The last Bama game I watched at Legion Field was the game Bama lost to Souther Miss I think it was the year Bama won like 3 games all year. I have a cousin that was in the band at UAB and went to watch her once at Legion. That was the last time I ever stepped foot in the place.
