re: What's so hard about understanding the Iran war

We could look at that the other way also. We didn’t know they had a missile capable of hitting London or Paris. We should wait till they develop one to go a little bit further?

I agree this halfway shite ain’t working. I’m right there with you. We should drop the hammer if we were going to do this at all and play to win this time.
Iran is closer to the Imperial Japanese than Russia, China, or the rest. Self preservation doesn’t matter to Iran just like it didn’t matter to the Japanese during WW2. Look at what it took to make them give up. 2 nuclear strikes. And some in the Japanese leadership still wanted to fight but the Emperor surrendered anyway. Fanatics and radicals that treat life so frivolously because they think God or the Emperor wants them to die for the cause is insane. You can’t talk to insane people like that. We can’t reason with people that treat mass murder as a tactic to get whatever they want.

Trump has not handled this great I will admit. We should have been way more prepared for what came next after the air campaign was done. We certainly should not be negotiating at this point. A deal would do more harm than good at this point. They will stay in power and build back if left in power. We will be going back in 10,15,20 years if we don’t do this now. It will be bloodier then. The weapons will just get more advanced and kill more people. We are already leaving the kids of today a huge debt. Probably be passing off the Chinese problem to them too. At least we can do is take this problem off their plate and clean up our own mess for once.

No we are in Iran because we have been negotiating with them for decades and haven’t even sniffed anything resembling a legit deal with them. Obama tried to buy them off but they still cheated. If they won’t accept the carrot then at some point you have to beat them with the stick. I think 20 or 30 years of negotiations are enough to prove that a deal is not possible so we are left with the choice of the stick.
It’s not just about the nukes. They have been responsible for killing a hell of a lot of American Citizens including our military personnel over the years. We can keep letting the body count accumulate over time until finally we look around and say enough of that or we can just deal with this problem. Letting them nibble at the edges until they can kill us in one mass attack is not a strategy worth a damn. It sucks but sometimes you just have to put your foot down and say that’s enough. It may not be what anyone wants but it’s the only choice we have.

It’s not hard to understand. It was the same way before WW1 and WW2. No foreign wars! We have no business fighting a war on the European Continent! So we stayed out doing absolutely nothing. Until we couldn’t stay out anymore. WW2 is probably the best example. People howled if someone mentioned getting involved in the war. Then by the and of the afternoon on Dec 7 1941 everyone was yelling Get them!! Then we finally have to send our best of us over to fight and slog over all the territory Europe managed to lose. Had we just stood up at the beginning I often wonder how many lives could be saved by not allowing the enemy in the Pacific and Europe to take all that territory we had to fight back across. This Iran fight is no different. We can keep letting Iran kill a few here and there and let the numbers pile up or we can just go do this and get it over with. It sucks and I hate it but you can’t talk to these people anymore than you could talk to Tojo or Hitler.

And you are still being stupid. Come back when you want to have a legit conversation.

This is such a stupid comment. Mankind has been killing each other in war for centuries. Human beings are damn good at it. As long as humans exist free will exists. That means there will be times good people will have to go to war to stop evil people. If you wanna disagree with war fine. I agree war sucks and it’s the worst way mankind has to settle disputes. But telling someone to go join the frontlines is a dumb as hell statement. This is not the first time Americans will have to go into combat and it will not even come close to being the last time. There is the way the world should be and then there is the way it really is. Until the human race learns that killing each other is a poor way to settle anything then we will have the need for a military. Simple as that.

All they have to do is start a Go Fund Me take up donations and either fly them somewhere they can get constant treatment or bring them medicine. We can’t be talking about very many people at all. The place can’t be San Francisco or the Key West.

Dude the reason they are one of the most anti globalist governments on earth is because the are the most anti civilization government on earth. They are radical Islamic extremists that have not progressed 1 day since the 3rd Crusade took place. They view the world the same way Muslims did in the days of Saladin. Sure they disagree with each other over the Sunni vs Shia beliefs. That’s a disagreement among Muslims though. They all agree on killing the infedel.

The UK might as well be Timmy off the South Park cartoon. We have Timmy as an ally trying to back us up. The UK once had a great Navy and boasted one of the best leaders the world has ever known in Churchill. Today they have turned into a joke and a punchline.

I would prefer they add more employees so I don’t have to walk all over the damn store hunting what I need in that maze. Every time I need to find a person that works there it seems like they vanish into thin air like some apparition.
re: Trump's MOU set a trap. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fell into it.

I knew from the jump that you could never negotiate a deal with these people. There was no need for any trap to be set up. All you had to do is study our past history over 47yrs and know a deal was never possible.
Regime change was always going to be required here to better this situation. There was never a choice. If we kill layer after layer of leadership then maybe we might find someone that is more corrupt than radical and a Venezuela like situation can occur. We haven’t killed near enough people for that to happen yet though. We still have a lot more people to kill to even consider a deal possible. That’s just the truth. A deal with anyone in Iran just may never be possible. Radical figures may be all there is. At which point we will need to find a puppet to install. Either way it’s going to require doing a lot of things we don’t want to do to end this and get it over with.

We’ll talk was around a week or two ago the Hegseth, Rubio, and someone else was talking to Trump trying to get him to finish this already. He just won’t do it though. It’s been clear for a pretty long time now you will never get any kind of a legit deal out of this crew they are negotiating with currently. Time to remove a few more layers and see if they are smarter.

I sure hope some 3D chess move like that is involved but I fear this is just an admission that the US is in for the long haul with Iran. More trying not to break the military budget because they expect to be there a long while. I hope I’m wrong but that is what I see.
I don’t know what went on around the time of the ceasefire but Trump has really struggled since. It’s like Joe Biden died a couple of months ago and his spirt possessed Trump. This is about the 5th worst idea I have heard out of him the past couple of months. I don’t know what to make of him these days.

re: Vance v Rubio 2028
Posted by RollingwiththeTide on 7/10/26 at 9:00 pm to WinnaSez
Rubio gives the R’s way more of a chance at holding the Trump coalition together in 28. Rubio also gives the R’s the best chance at picking up some Dems that might be red pilled between now and then.
One thing being overlooked on Vance right now is his candidacy could fall apart before it really ever begins over this Iran action. He has been lead negotiator on the US side. There was a point or two Vance let Iran slide by him. He can’t keep that up. If anything he agrees to in some deal blows up later then he is the cat responsible for it and he will suffer the political consequences.

I wouldn’t expect much. Half the country would want blood and half would be overjoyed. The few in the middle would be made but would not want a major response.
