I can assure you, there is no such thing as “in the process” were you are formally and officially illegal if you are actually “in the process”.
My money is on her not formally and officially being “in the process.”

However, being here illegally is itself a crime
Why these folks cannot understand this is mind boggling.

This does not answer the question: is she currently here with a legal status? Yes or no

Appeal to emotion - the hallmark of leftwing propaganda. I sincerely doubt your post is an accurate representation of the story.

The point is we can accomplish mass deportation of bad actors without doing this. It’s just not necessary & frankly it is counterproductive + gives the pro-illegal extremists a lot of ammo. It also costs public money.
Why do you say this? Was she here illegally? Yes! Can ICE ignore the immigration status of somebody when they are searching for a known criminal? No! As for the public money, why are you not crying about the free education she got? She can thank me for stealing my tax dollars from Colombia!

What probably happened to her is typical of how screwed up the immigration system is. She is about to lose her status but is eligible for a green card. She files the paperwork near the end of her original status..as would be typical, and especially for her because she is just barely of age to do so individually.
By law if you fill out the green card paperwork and file it and your other status expires, you are still legal as per law. However what happens is that there is a backlog in green card processing. So it could be that she filled out the paperwork in time and the system itself has not updated....and ICE being ICE just goes and snatches

These ‘feel good’ stories are bullshite to prey on people’s emotions. Send her back. I don’t give a shite about her grades. It’s irrelevant.

I agree that there should be a mechanism or a program that allows Americans to attest to the good character or outstanding nature of individual illegal immigrants. If 200 business leaders and tax payers and neighbors etc attest that this person is an asset their status should be delayed to give them time to prove their case. Make em learn to memorize the preamble to the Constitution and sing it on their head while working three shifts at work and paying taxes. And keep them.

Eh sounds like she lied about abuse to get here in the first place. Btw abuse happens everywhere. Why are we to take in everyone who is being abused? What system do we even have in place here to prevent them being abused here. Bye

Nope, we have years of delays as it is. This is the whole democrats strategy for eventual amnesty.

Here illegally, get deported. Period.

Tell dimtards to not let twenty million people in, and things like this won't happen.
